I am in receipt of your email and, as of yesterday, your snail mail letter. In order to show good faith in this matter, I have a question for you. From your hard copy letter (I took the liberty of scanning it in as the quality of the PDF attachment to your email was of such low quality, I scarcely took it seriously; given the size of the Hearst Corporation, it must simply have been an off day for the poor IT tech you called in for rectification), I would ask that you would turn your attention to this snippet:
I am but a simple man (you may ask my critics for confirmation of this fact) so I wish to address one thing from your letter at a time. If you would, Ms. Dietrick, please forward to me one or more examples of the flyers you have singled out for infringement for my inspection. I have no problem in reworking them so as to remove any WMUR logo (presented here for illustration only to ensure we are both communicating and being precise concerning the artwork of your letter) that may be present; I only wish to careful and accurate:
Having such an example of one of my flyers that is now in your possession would allow me to quickly respond to your request.
Kindest regards,
Skip Murphy

I received an email on 4/3 from someone named Heather Dietrick – allegedly from the Hearst Corporation; her title is both Counsel AND a First Amendment Fellow of the Hearst Corporation!
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
She must be quite at home with the above text from our US Constitution. After all, GraniteGrok, first and foremost in our political commentary, stands on the text and the philosophy underlying that most august document. If it were not for that, we could not do that, nor the citizen journalism that we, even being the lowly bloggers in the Journalistic totem pole, and to identify the context for our readers on the posts we are creating. Free to speak our minds, and as part of the New Media, free to report on that which we believe to be newsworthy. However, if you were me, would you wonder if you were on the wrong end of a joke, especially after looking at the quality of the PDF that was sent? Click here to see.
And as any person that has graduated from J-School would know, the first of the “Who, What, When, How, and Why?” is Who. So, Who is Heather Dietrick (other than what the letter said)? Being a blogger, I decided to go to the source (er, the “Where” – thus the use of the Hearst Corporation above) – the Hearst website and then do a search for Heather. Being that her title was Counsel, I was unsure that she would be listed, but given that the Hearst Corporation is in the First Amendment business, and she was a First Amendment Fellow, she’d show up that way.
Imagine my surprise!
Something tells me that there may be other things that are missing as well.
To Be Continued – as I have more questions to ask of Heather Dietrick, Esq.
