Sixteen Democrats Join Senate Republicans to End Assault Weapons Bill In US Senate

(40-60.)

The AWB is done for now.  The only Republican to vote for it was Senator Kirk from Illinois.  Our own Jeanne Shaheen (of course) voted to increase restrictions.  Shaheen also voted against concealed carry reciprocity, though I have to say that while it would have been nice, the Federal Government should not be telling states how to handle their own concealed carry laws, though that is not why Shaheen voted against it.  Were it a bill to restrict concealed carry from DC, she’d have have “ooh! Ooh! I vote for that, I vote for that.”

We know how she rolls.
