Maybe You Can’t Keep Your Doctor?

Doctor's leaving parctice because of government regulations

California has always thought of itself as the Earth Mother of cultural fads.  But what about the socialized health care fad?

Remember when Mr. Obama and any Democrat worth their talking points was telling us that with their Health Care Plan we could keep our doctor?  If that were true then why is California planning for a shortage of Doctors because of Obama-Care?  Their population growth is anemic, dropping to about 1% a year, and that includes immigration. (OK. Maybe not illegal immigration.)  So the only reason to need more doctors, or in this case more people with a name tag that says they are a ‘doctor’ is if real doctors are doing the boot scoot boogie away from the new regime?

Per my post yesterday, on the Golden State redefining the title of doctor downward, we have a California Democrat saying things like this…

As State Senator Ed Hernandez (D) says, “What good is it if they are going to have a health insurance card but no access to doctors?

Sounds like they are planning for a shortage of doctors?

I guess we can slay the “access” beast as well?

That takes care of cheap, efficient  access, keeping your plan and your doctor, and guaranteeing coverage, none of which were true.  What does that leave, death panels? Well according to Nobel Prize winging left-conomist Paul Krugman death panels were, well, kind of inevitable.

“We’re going to need more revenue, we’re going to need, and probably in the end, surely in the end it will require some sort of middle class taxes as well… We’re going to have to make decisions about health care, not pay for health care that has no demonstrated medical benefits. So you know the snarky version I use, which is, I shouldn’t even say because it will get me in trouble, is death panels and sales taxes is how we do this.”

And these are not new remarks for Krugman.  He made the same points in a very offhand manner back in 2010.

Just saying no to procedures is a historical feature of universal government managed plans.  Just as anyone who has to use the Feds for any kind of services now?

And before the Brain-washed, Left-wing, talking-points, flying rhetoric monkeys descend on the comments section, take some time to explain to yourself how a government suffering from massive debt even before implementation, that has been so wrong about almost everything else it has shoveled in front of the public to excuse its bureaucratic take over of the insurance industry, will “control costs” without denying work-a-day middle class American people access to things that they can no longer get coverage for because the government seizure of the insurance market?

(Don’t say electronic records, even that is turning out to cost more.)

If the only path to coverage is through the government’s maze, at which every turn there is a paper-pushed, and you lack the resources to go elsewhere, the bureaucrats will tell you no; Paul Krugman knows it, and every honest person who understands even the most basic rules of cost, value, and supply and demand knows it too.

The rest of you have been lying to yourselves and each other.
