Maybe the start of a Revolution? Pushback against the faux “freedom” of Progressivism?

This paragraph from Tim’s post on Zero Hedge really caught my eye:

There is no other culture on earth that has the capacity, like Americans currently do, to defeat centralists, defend individual liberty, and end the pursuit of total global power in this lifetime. We are the first and last line. If freedom is undone here, it is undone everywhere for generations to come. This is our responsibility. This is our providence. There can be no complacency. There can be no compromise. There can be no fear. It ends on this ground. One way, or another….

Indeed; if not me, who?  Ronald Reagan’s statement on freedom comes to mind:

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

My answer to that is simply read what I write here – I (and the other Groksters) do fight in the arena of ideas every day here at the ‘Grok.  That said, there is no doubt that another incipient pushback beginning against Progressively driven Government that is, more and more, shoving itself into all aspects of our lives.  This morning I learned that Cheaper Than Dirt, Templar Custom, and EFI all have effectively said “if your civilians can’t buy our products, your government can’t either”.

The TEA Party arose simply because those that give their consent to be governed were no longer in consenting frame of mind.  Progressives, those of that foreign political philosophy spawned from Marxism, believe that (in an upside down bizarro Orewllian universe) in order for individuals to have “true” freedom (that is, freedom from necessity), they must give up their Individual Liberties and Freedoms.  Which, as history of such societies as Soviet Russia, Communist China, Cuba, and what is now going on in Venezuela and Argentina, is no freedom at all.  Pretty object, voluminous promises, and Heaven on Earth at the end of yellowbrick road (the gold provided by other’s, natch).  They rebelled against the huge costs of the emerging Obama welfare state and how it was ignoring its Constitutional boundaries.  As a result, the Progressive Democrats lost their supermajorities and found themselves with Republican railroad ties on their train tracks (with varying and imperfect results, to be admitted).

Now Obama and his Progressives cohorts at the State level are attempting to further demonize, deligitimize, and make the Constitution more irrelevant (remember, they are the one that have been pounding the meme of “Why pay attention to a piece of parchment written by long dead white rich slaveowners” by directly attacking one of the strongest pillars of the Constitution.

The post at Zero Hedge said “There is no other culture on earth that has the capacity” and now we see a second section of the American populace rising up against the Tyranny and Oppression that Progressivism MUST bring to achieve its end game.  While it is true that a Venn diagram would show a good size intersection of the Politically oriented TEA Party and gun shooting Second Amendment folks, it is not a complete intersection.  Thus, we are seeing a reactivation of a good size of the citizenry that are more than willing to protect THEIR rights.  I am betting that a large percentage of the TEA Party folks (you know, the movement that the MSM called dead back in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 – and HOW many State level governments are Red and not Blue?) will join with them.

“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it,” – we separated from the Crown when the King and his officials became too burdensome.  More and more, people are awakening to the fact that this totally un-American philosophy of Progressivism has the intent to replace the Founders vision of freedom for Individuals by limiting the force of Government with an overbearing Government that provides some with the freedom of necessities of life while effectively enslaving others in order to provide those faux “freedoms” – which we are seeing with large “strings attached”.

Cheaper Than Dirt:

 Recently, companies such as LaRue Tactical and Olympic Arms have announced that they will no longer sell prohibited items to government agencies and personnel in states that deny the right to own those items to civilians. It has been and will continue to be Cheaper Than Dirt’s policy to not to sell prohibited items to government agencies and/or agents in states, counties, cities, and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their citizens. We support and encourage other companies that share in this policy.

Templar Custom:

New York State has recently passed the NY SAFE Act, which prohibits law-abiding New York citizens from purchasing and using many of the most common rifles, handguns, and shotguns in the United States, along with most standard magazines made for these firearms.

The law, rammed through the New York legislature in roughly 30 hours before the legislators themselves or the general public could respond, is a blatant violation of the New York State Constitution.

A plain, common-sense reading of the recent Heller decision also shows that the NY SAFE Act is also a blatant and purposefully affront to the Second Amendment of the United States, and is clearly not a constitutional law.

We cannot legally sell rifles to New Yorkers as private citizens.

We will not sell arms to agents of the state of New York that hold themselves to be “more equal” than their citizens.

As long as the legislators of New York think they have the power to limit the rights of their citizens, in defiance of the Constitution, we at Templar will not sell them firearms to enforce their edicts.

Templar Custom is announcing that the State of New York, any Law Enforcement Departments, Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders within the State of New York, or any New York State government entity or employee will no longer be served as customers.

We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal. Before the law and before their creator, all people are equal. When the political class attempts to set itself above the people, we at Templar Custom will always side with the people.

We will also be reviewing the laws of the various states to determine if others will be joining New York on our “Do Not Sell” list.

Templar Custom invites all firearms manufacturers, distributors and firearms dealers to join us in this action to refuse to do business with the State of New York. We must stand together, or we shall surely fall divided.

EFI LLC:

Government Sales

 The Federal Government and several states have enacted gun control laws that restrict the public from owning and possessing certain types of firearms. Law-enforcement agencies are typically exempt from these restrictions. EFI, LLC does not recognize law-enforcement exemptions to local, state, and federal gun control laws. If a product that we manufacture is not legal for a private citizen to own in a jurisdiction, we will not sell that product to a law-enforcement agency in that jurisdiction.

 California

EFI, LLC has registered with the DoJ CFLC program and we will sell any product that we legally can to the public. We will not, under any circumstances, sell any of our products to law-enforcement or state agencies until the California legislature repeals the gun control laws that have been enacted, as these entities have lobbied in favor of statewide gun bans.

EFI, LLC will not sell anything to the following local government agencies until their firearm and/or magazine restrictions have been repealed:

City of Chicago, Illinois
New York State
Washington, DC
