Do Not Give Up Your Guns – Do Not Extinguish The Last Light In The World

by Mike

Americans, Never give up your guns!

Americans, Never give up your guns!

That admonition comes, not from a right-wing extremist, but from Stanislav Mishin a Russian blogger who also writes for Pravda!

He tells us the story of the heavily armed citizenry under the Tsar, and how enemies, both foreign and domestic, were easily repelled, or murderously driven out by the peasants, who jealously guarded their lands and freedom.

The armed citizenry repelled invasions by the Poles, Napoleon, the Germans, and were doing a decent job of fighting the Reds to a standstill. The Reds eventually took Moscow by deception, and proceeded to disarm, murder, and tyrannize the population:

Moscow fell, for example, not from a lack of weapons to defend it, but from the lying guile of the Reds. Ten thousand Reds took Moscow and were opposed only by some few hundreds of officer cadets and their instructors.

Even then the battle was fierce and losses high. However, in the city alone, at that time, lived over 30,000 military officers (both active and retired), all with their own issued weapons and ammunition, plus tens of thousands of other citizens who were armed. The Soviets promised to leave them all alone if they did not intervene. They did not and for that were asked afterwards to come register themselves and their weapons: where they were promptly shot.

(And some wonder why we fear and resist registration.) He continues:

One of the first things [the Reds] did was to disarm the population. From that point, mass repression, mass arrests, mass deportations, mass murder, mass starvation were all a safe game for the powers that were. The worst they had to fear was a pitchfork in the guts or a knife in the back or the occasional hunting rifle. Not much for soldiers.

Even though the Soviet Union has been dead for 21 years, the citizens have not regained their rights, and where authority is unchecked, it treats the people with contempt:

While President Putin pushes through reforms, the local authorities, especially in our vast hinterland, do not feel they need to act like they work for the people. They do as they please, a tyrannical class who knows they have absolutely nothing to fear from a relatively unarmed population. This in turn breeds not respect but absolute contempt and often enough, criminal abuse.

He closes by telling us never to trust the leftists, and never to extinguish the beacon which our Second Amendment provides to oppressed peoples around the world:

For those of us fighting for our traditional rights, the US 2nd Amendment is a rare light in an ever darkening room. Governments will use the excuse of trying to protect the people from maniacs and crime, but are in reality, it is the bureaucrats protecting their power and position. In all cases where guns are banned, gun crime continues and often increases.

……….

No it is about power and a total power over the people. There is a lot of desire to bad mouth the Tsar, particularly by the Communists, who claim he was a tyrant, and yet under him we were armed and under the progressives disarmed. Do not be fooled by a belief that progressives, leftists hate guns. Oh, no, they do not. What they hate is guns in the hands of those who are not marching in lock step of their ideology. They hate guns in the hands of those who think for themselves and do not obey without question. They hate guns in those whom they have slated for a barrel to the back of the ear.

So, do not fall for the false promises and do not extinguish the light that is left to allow humanity a measure of self respect.

Let us hold fast to our rights and our Constitution, in order that “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth“.

Hey, i like this kinda comrad. Strange place to get advice from, but anyone in favor of “never extinguishing the bacon” is fine by me.

      Heh.

As I recall Hitler also disarmed the people … just to make ths streets and people safe. Thank you for this article and history lesson about the communists.

Those Russian anecdotes were all from a time when there was essentially no difference between “military” and “civilian” weaponry. I have a hard time believing any modern army would have much to fear from a bunch of preppers and their handguns, extended magazines or not.

“leftists hate guns. Oh, no, they do not……They hate guns in those whom they have slated for a barrel to the back of the ear.” – Wow. Most “Leftists” I know are fairly hippy-dippy, peaceful folk – replace barrel with bong, perhaps. Are you guys really that afraid of them?

      ‘Boy,

You are conflating the left’s useful idiots and camp followers, who love the permissive atmosphere and state benefits, with the ruling class and apparatchiks, who most definitely want power for themselves and state control of everything.

The Bozos with Bongs that you refer to are akin to the degenerate Romans during the decay of the empire, who had learned how to vote themselves ‘bread and circuses’, without caring that the system which provided for them could collapse, or turn on them.

On the other hand, consider the attitude of Diane Feinstein and Crazy Cuomo, who would cheerfully go house to house and seize our guns at their superior gunpoints.
NO, NO, NO – parity in all but WMD. State control of the National Guards, and the full power of the citizens and their states to resist Federal tyranny.

Let me add that there are basically two styles of leaders:
The first, who (like our founders) understand that the people are supreme, and the job of the elected official is to preserve the freedom of the nation and the people
Or the second who think they have a better way, a monopoly on intelligence and vision, that they are the ones they’ve been waiting for, that this time it will work, that communist utopia can be achieved – they just have to break a few eggs to make that perfect omelette. IE they may have to kill or re-educate the dissenters.

So, yes, leftists, statists, socialists, fascists, NAZIs – ALL of them like guns and other weaponry concentrated in their hands. The purpose of the police in their mind is to keep order for the state – protecting you and your property is very low on their list.

So, enjoy the choom, bongo-boy – until they come for you, and you don’t have any means of resistance, and your neighbors were long since disarmed, because you thought it was a good idea. (See Niemoller)

I think Sir Coati was just pointing out that there is a undertone of fear in some of the stories hear, which i understand, fear is maybe (with greed) the number one human motivator at this stage in human developement.

Sir Coati is quite armed, and does not partake from the bong. He and C Dog were my two favorites over at Huggies cuz he has a pragmatic approach to both “sides” and can root out the silliness and hypocrioticnessness in what comes out of anyones piehole, including his own. Much like El Perro Loco.

Just walk quietly and carry a loaded question Sir Coati, and GG can be a lot of fun :)

I like, and thanks for the advice, Lord Bacon!

I still think that many of the left’s camp-followers suffer from a false sense of security if they believe the state can protect them and perhaps even feed them, without there being a terrible price somewhere down the road.

I think fear is an appropriate reaction to the machinations of big government. This quote, attributed to Washington makes the point: “Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master…”

Exactly what parity of arms means is a tricky discussion, but clearly the founders did not intend us to be defensless in the face of foreign forces, OR OUR OWN GOVERNMENT.

We welcome Sir Coati to the ranks of commenters, and perhaps to a Grok-shoot one day.

you’re extrapolating quite a bit from the two points I was trying to make.

        • Chris P. Bacon

          He’s English Coati. Be patient.

I was also out of service area for a while. Looking forward to ongoing discussions.
And yes, English, from the land where the subjects are disarmed, the police are increasingly armed, self-defense is a crime, and most of the leaders are as vapid as ‘Musket’ Morgan.
Fear not, Coati – I’ve been here long enough to appreciate that the freedoms enshrined in our parchments are stronger than the mostly unwritten British constitution, and are likely to be longer-lasting, as long as we the people exercise eternal vigilance.

I got that from The Baconator.
Sorry for reading too much in. On the other hand, the hippie-dippies will be in for a rude awakening when the benevolent state steals their rights.

a modern army would have plenty to fear from a handgun. google “what good can a handgun do against an army” by Mike Vanderboegh.

most of the “leftists” I know are what are termed “useful idiots” they ally themselves with the socialist cause, but they really have no in-depth knowledge of what socialism really entails. ask any “hippy dippy” what they do with people who will not conform when the socialist utopia is the law of the land. they won’t answer. they either haven’t thought that far ahead, or they think that everyone will just come into line when they see how “awesome” it is to be a socialist, or they know that such people will have to be removed, and the thought of it is too “icky” for them to deal with.

well, many of us HAVE thought that far ahead, we know socialism isn’t “awesome”, and removing us isn’t going to be easy, and we plan to keep it that way. with arms, if we need to. many of us have been to war. we know what it means. and we’d rather not go back to that unless pushed.

“If every Jewish and anti-nazi family in Germany had owned a Mauser rifle
and twenty rounds of ammunition AND THE WILL TO USE IT, Adolf Hitler would be a little-known footnote to the history of the Weimar Republic.” – Aaron Zelman, JPFO

      • coati-boy

no one’s talking about socialism or removing anyone – turn it turn a few notches.

        • granitegrok

Problem is, DHS has already identified those that are for limited government, returning vets, pro-Constitutionalists, and the like, as potential domestic terrorists.

Communitarianism – Socialism with a smile: but little difference, there.

          • coati-boy

that’s…..great, but not at all relevant to the points I brought up.

        • http://granitegrok.com/author/mike Mike Rogers

No, but as noted, that is where the slippery slope tends to lead.
Central planning, fatal conceit, attempting to perfect society by tinkering with what is considered ‘virtuous’ in the eyes of the state….. Can only lead to one place, a fact which our founders knew only too well, not only from their history, but from the contemporaneous French revolution, in which Madame guillotine was a frequent participant.
