Palate Cleanser – Little Wing

I’ve been quiet this weekend– Bathroom remodel,  closets, floors, and much more on the way.  I expect with but a few exceptions it will consume my spare weekend hours for several weeks.  So I have not had my finger on the pulse of politics and culture but I find myself no worse for wear.  And after listening to this, which with all due respect to the original may be the best cover of this song ever, I may not want to. (Don’t worry, I’ll be back to the politics tomorrow.)

Take a few minutes and relax.  The Corrs – Little Wing.

        I’m not saying the Corrs aren’t “da bomb” – I just think that there’s tons of great versions of this tune(Sting, Derrick and the Dominos, etc) but the original by Jimi is still the greatest. Of all the dead rockers he’s the one I most often wonder about regarding what he’d be playing now if he’d been able to kick the drugs and survive into the 21st century. It’s scary to think how good he’d be today. BTW, nice “Foxy Lady” reference.
