    The gun related murders before and after the gun ban were:
    1999: 347
    1998: 312
    1997: 428
    1996: 516 – Year where the gun buyback occurred!
    1995: 470
    1994: 516

    For the last few years, they have been less than 300 with a growing population. Also, even before the ban, Australia’s restrictions on guns were a lot stricter than the U.S.
