Bob Owens writes for his own blog, for PJ Media, and for Shooting Illuatrated. He lives in small town America, and recently took a walk through His downtown, stopping by the two gun shops there. What he saw is being repeated all over the country: gun shows mobbed, gun stores picked clean, ranges working overtime as gun owners hurry to squeeze in extra practice. Listen to his description:
The customers in the shop were picking through what remained; lever-action rifles, oddball shotguns, and the smattering of name-brand centerfire pistols. One man was attempting to trade in an antique double-barrel shotgun for something more current.
……I’ve never seen anything like it.
Every weapon of military utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone. This isn’t a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. This is a society preparing for war.

Bob is a patriot very worried about his country, and I think he is right. This country was born out of a well-founded fear of and distaste for tyrannical rulers. Enough Americans still remember the real reason why individuals are armed, and will not allow themselves to be rendered defenseless against government tyranny.
