So, Dems in Belknap county, that would mean that you will spend a lot, ignore the Constitution, and grow Govt? AGAIN?

2012 House Belknap 2 Dems - Front‘Tis the season of political surveys coming in on the phone.  Today, I think I got five, and a whole bunch of hangups which I take to be auto-dials by such companies looking for folks to call later or that with “predictive dialing”, there wasn’t an agent ready when “it” thought there would be when it dialed the number.  It is also the time for “mailers”; candidates trying to sell their message like these four Democrat ProRegressives: Kate Miller, Bill Johnson, Sandy Mucci, and MY fav Lisa DiMartino (she of the “my house is in the flight path – there might be a crash” fame.  More on that later).

They are running as a team.  That’s fine – my pick are the four Conservatives (that happen to be running on the Republican ticket) Colette Worseman, Herb Vadney, Bob Greemore, and my personal friend Kevin Leandro.

Back to the Dems – remember, the electorate (that would be you, the voters) decided that the Democrats were the extremists in 2010 – and told them emphatically that their social issue voting and their absolutely crazy spending were no longer to be tolerated.  So, what did these qwazy quad send as a message?  That would be on the flip side of the card:

Let’s put this into context; what are the TEA Party’s three Principles? A concentration and accountability of its elected officials in promoting and affirming Free Markets, Fiscal Frugality, Constitutional governance.  No more Government crowding out and controlling the private marketplaces, limit itself to what the Constitution allows, and stop the out of control spending.  Or, as Carolyn McKinney, Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus of NH (RLCNH, a Liberty oriented organization) wrote in describing them:

Despite this decentralization—or perhaps because of it—the movement has managed to focus the American political conversation on concerns and objectives of lasting importance to the American Republic: overspending, debt, and crony capitalism on the one hand, and government accountability, sound money and national sovereignty, on the other. But more than that, the Tea Party has sought to restore those timeless principles that were once cherished by all Americans: limited government, individual liberty, personal responsibility, free enterprise and equal protection under the law chief among them.

As you can see on the back of these Regressive Democrats (regressive in that they believe in the Progressive philosophy that an extremely activist Govt should rule over its subjects rather than being in the background as Citizens determine how they will pursue their own dream of happiness):

2012 House Belknap 2 Dems - Mailer Back

Right from the get-go, we can see that with their disavowal of TEA Party principles, they ARE for a larger and more intrusive government which, by definition, is going to cost you a lot more for that “privilege” of being “ruled”.  Let’s review what I mean:

  • Kindergarten – they believe that Concord should make the decision and NOT the local officials that know much better what the local populace needs or wants.  It shows that they believe in Centralization (aka “WE are the experts – we know better than you what you need”).  Why don’t they trust the local folks?
  • Drop out age – IMHO, this is silliness.  Yes, not getting a high school diploma is immediately an indicator of future poverty – kids should get it.  But does a decree from a Centralized govt going to make a difference?  Once again, they DO NOT TRUST the local officials to make important decision.  Yet, isn’t the NH Way to have that local control?  Not if they have their way it isn’t.  It shows that they believe in Centralization (aka “WE are the experts – we know better than you what you need”).  Why don’t they trust the local folks?
  • Gun control – their belief is that you do not have the Right to defend yourself,  Instead, you are responsible to have the State (i.e., the Police) defend you instead.  They do not trust lawful citizens and instead, view and treat them just as they would people who cannot control themselves (at best) or as criminals (at worst). It really doesn’t matter at all what the location is at all – the State House or a campus is just a dodge. It shows that they believe in Centralization (aka “WE are the experts – we know better than you what you need”).  Why don’t they trust the local folks?  Or individuals?
  • False Medical Information – I have, literally, no idea what this means at all.  A made up issue?
  • Downshifting – The Democrats themselves are the most guilty of creating mandates at the State level only to be levied against the local towns and cities.  Always have, always will – that is just who they are.  Frankly, I want local towns to be given, as Speaker Bill O’Brien has been doing, the control of issues that are better decided by local towns or by individual citizens.  But that also means taking up the responsibility of paying for it – there should be no free ride.  For instance – these four Dems talk about education – how many unfunded mandates have been handed down from Concord when the Dems were in charge? As a Budget Committee member, I asked that question of both the town and the school board – they couldn’t give me an answer.  I think that most folks, if given all the local control possible would gladly take on the costs simply to get rid of the headaches that Concord keeps on presenting and demanding. It shows that they believe in Centralization (aka “WE are the experts – we know better than you what you need”).  Why don’t they trust the local folks?
  • Special Agenda – are you freaking kidding me?  All I have to say is Gay Marriage!  If it was not for the buckets of bucks from the Gay Lobby, it would have been a nothing burger.  Look at folks like Zandra Rice-Hawkins for Granite Progress and the special interests she pushes; if it weren’t for the money from the Colorado Model, she’d be out of biz.  Trust me, each side of the aisle has their own issues, their own special interests, and it would be a lie (and IS a lie) for them to intimate that they are as pure as the virgin snow. Bah! It shows that they believe in Centralization (aka “WE are the experts – we know better than you what you need”).  Why don’t they trust the local folks?
  • Public Education – there is only one model for these folks; there is NO Freedom of choice in this area (even as they are “pro-choice” for killing unborn children).  Once again, we see that Progressives prefer a “one size fits all” model for education – one cookie cutter for all!  Parents know best?  Nope.  That Parents know their children better than any teacher?  Nope.  In fact, they are more than willing to continue the philosophy that is emerging from teachers that they know better than parents.  They also are all for the unions – in fact, they just cannot consider ANY other model in which the current model is not the pre-eminent one.  In this, they truly show their true colors – lovers of the Status Quo and cannot trust individuals to choose what is best for their families or children.  It shows that they believe in Centralization (aka “WE are the experts – we know better than you what you need”).  Why don’t they trust the local folks?

In all cases, they call for an expansion of Government intrusiveness and a blatant disregard of Individual Freedom and Liberty.  And when you look at what they will be doing, this is amplified.

  • University System – best question is always “what is your ratio of indirect / direct labor – how much overhead are you paying for vs those actually carrying out the mission of the University – teaching.  They are all about throwing money at the problem without a careful analysis of WHY the system needs so much more money.  If it were up to them, everything would be free (and we all know how much “free” costs, don’t we?).
  • Hospitals – instead of sending more money, I know that they will support another run at MaggieCare – it will not be about sending money to the hospitals, it will be controlling tentacles around them.
  • Biz-friendly?  Oh.My.Gosh.Are.You.Kidding.Me?  The last time that the Dems had supermajorities, they decided to use them as piggybanks.  And if they weren’t taxing them, they were layering more and more regulations on them.  Friendly?  Progressives see them as evil and entities that have to be controlled.  The free market SCARES them – being control-freaks, this just cannot be allowed.  For example, just look at what one Progressive did all by herself – Jeanne Shaheen destroyed the private healthcare marketplace here in NH; of the two dozen competitors down to two.  And then is complaining about the failure of the free marketplace to boot!

This is going on too long – but look at the remaining list – all you can do is see the dollar signs spinning like the tires on a drag racer at Lee Speedway!  Once again, we see the emphasis on Government as Charity – Government is not to be limited but to increasingly overcrowd Civil Society out of the picture – it will be in charge of everything needed from cradle to grave.  And of course, you will have the privilege of paying for it all – and LIKE IT.  After all, Bigger Government can do more and more and more – until you have nothing left to decide for yourself.

After all, they will be deciding it all for you – you won’t have to trouble your pretty little head about the carrying out your own self-responsiblity to care for those around you.  Progressives – they want you to outsource EVERYTHING to them.

Or you are just an evil person…
