Once again, feckless GOPpers hand a Political Correctness club to Democrats and scream "BEAT ME WITH IT!" - Granite Grok

Once again, feckless GOPpers hand a Political Correctness club to Democrats and scream “BEAT ME WITH IT!”

So, wasn’t it a horror show when the Left decide to crucify Whoopie Goldberg for her “rape rape” comment – wasn’t that just so trivializing it?  Talk about a War on Women!

“I know it wasn’t rape-rape. It was something else but I don’t believe it was rape-rape. He went to jail and when they let him out he was like ‘You know what this guy’s going to give me a hundred years in jail I’m not staying, so that’s why he left.'”

Oh wait, Whoopie is not a Republican – she’s a protected minority with lots of cash, a huge platform, so the Left never even gave it a thought.  And she was talking about Roman Polanski – convicted girl-rapist (girl, being way underaged) – protecting one of the Left’s own.

Sidenote: Oh yeah, before I forget – just in the off case that the NH Democrat Party wants to accuse us again of violating the Left’s their double standard for enforcing Political Correctness?  With former NH Dem Presser Harrell gone home, I guess that leaves Collin Gately (FlapGummer’s replacement) if you want to start something, we’ll certainly oblige you.  In fact, we’d rather enjoy it.

Once again, Republicans have proven themselves to have spines of Silly Putty that have the property of bending backwards at the first sign of Lefty heat and mockery.  And I’m afraid, it’s epidemic amongst the Political Class on the supposed Right.  Stand up to the mullahs over them getting the Bomb?  Check.  Standup to Obama over the budget, sequestration, and cutting of the military?  Check.  Accused of being Politically Incorrect over Life issues by the MSM that hates their guts already?  They fold faster than a deck of cards thrown into acid.  These Political Cowards always seem to forget that the Dem Bullies (who, pretty much, only want to see these high level R Politicos do the Scared Chicken Dance faster than one of Obama imaginary High Speed Trains) do this for fun, for sport, and giggles.

Yeah.  Check.  Double time it if during election season.  Thy name is Cowardice.

“Leave a man behind on the battlefield”? Ask a Marine.  Ask a SEAL.  Ask a Green Beret. 101st / 82nd Airborne.  Ask any other elite military member.  Heck no. You don’t even need to ask the question – it’s embarrassing to even think of asking them.

But it’s easy for an Establishment Republican on the PR battlefield – they can run away faster than I can chug a can of Dew on a 110 degree day.  They act like they are cleaner than a bride in her white dress.  Heaven forbid that a spot of mud even think about staining it with even a spec of mud – after all, THEY are the center of the stage, right?  Like Kelly Ayotte (sigh, my Senator (R-NH), amongst others) are doing to US Senate candidate Richard Murdock.  So, what did he say that was so toxic to restart the herd of the helplessly incourageous (emphasis mine)?

I believe life begins at conception. The only exception I have for to have an abortion is in the case of the life of the mother. I struggled with myself for a long time but I came to realize life is that gift from God, even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape. It is something that God intended to happen.

He’s talking about the miracle of Life.  An innocent Life.  A new Life.  A Life that has no concept of how it was conceived.  To Richard Mourdock, that Life is precious; it is to be held high and cherished at all times.  And all he is saying, as many people of faith believe, that God is the progenitor / source of all Life.  Even if created under conditions that shock, dismay and is repugnant and makes us all cringe, cry, or worse.

Life.  Period.  He didn’t glorify the act – in fact called it out for what it is – horrible.  He recognized that bad things happen – just look what happened to Job in the Old Testament.  Free will or pre-ordained – many of us struggle with each concept and which is correct and to what degree.  We’d like to think we know which is true – but as wisdom increases, we know that we will never know in whole until we see Him face to face (and maybe not even then).  For those among you of faith, you know what I am trying to get across.  For those of you who are not, I humbly submit that I may well never have the time or wordsmithing skill to convince you.  But that is not the purpose of this post.  He further amplified it:

Of COURSE, the Pro-Aborters (like Obama who voted AGAINST outlawing partial birth abortions that could result in a living baby) took Mourdock to the stocks – they CANNOT allow any kind of attack, even one not meant as one, to go without an all-out counter-attack.  And for the Dems and their sycophants?  It’s what they do and what they are –  they smelled a smidgeon of political opportunism during a time that their Obamessiah was turning into a mere mortal (they can smell oncoming defeat as well).  So they turned on him.

Spot of mud?  They threw the whole trough.  And right on cue, like the bride in the white dress trying to keep mud off her dress, those that should have been standing tall to defend Mourdock’s stance on Life ran away from the fray.  Instead, they acted like chickens with their heads cut off and ran in circles squawking “it’s not me!  It’s not me!”.  It shows that the old joke about a bear chasing two men (“I only have to outrun you!”) defines most of the politicians on the Right.

They have not learned the lesson that you FIGHT bullies – you punch back twice as hard until they cry Uncle or slither away.  They haven’t learned that if you fight back, they will eventually leave you alone (or failing that, will pick their battles much more carefully rather than, as they do now, out of boredom).  They can’t get out of the mode that they must, out of a need to be using Marquis of Queensbury rules – but set  in an MMA octogon.  Knife fight?  Bring the gun.  Bring the bricks down on them.  You believe in your platform?  Show some gumption.  Our Founders were willing to lay down their lives for their ideals – you can’t even stop shivering in fear from a day or so f faux outrage, manufactured teeth gnashing, from folks that you should be walking all over?

You deserve what you get, then.

You know, I hope that Mourdock wins and wins big – and then all of these simpering sacks of stupidness will have to grovel (remember, the US Senate counts may well be that close that one guy could be the difference) on their knees.  Or worse, come up to him with the good ‘ole backslapping and “hey, we knew you’d beat it!”.  I do give kudos for Romney for not disowning him – once again, Romney recognizes the danger that these Repubs keep doing to themselves (like babes that keep pulling their blankies over their head hoping the bogeyman won’t see them).  Senator John Cornyn also stood up for Mourdock:

Richard and I, along with millions of Americans — including even Joe Donnelly — believe that life is a gift from God. To try and construe his words as anything other than restatement of that belief is irresponsible and ridiculous. In fact, rather than condemning him for his position, as some in his party have when it’s come to Republicans, I commend Congressman Donnelly for his support of life.

Who knows – it may be that Todd Akin may be joining him – wonder if they’d form the Political Correctness Doesn’t Matter caucus?

*******

Factoid:

According to Gallup polling, roughly a quarter of the population supports Richard Mourdock’s position on abortion — that the only exception in support of abortion should be the life of the mother.

Ya think they like Republicans?  Ya think they only want to report the news straight up?  Republicans just don’t learn, do they?

And here is what Erik Erikson of RedState said about this whole sordid affair from an MSM standpoint:

Then, of course, they also shape the news.

For a number of years, since RedState really grew in prominent, I have often given reporters the names of many pro-life women to put on television and radio or interview for print publications. Inevitably, however, I find that the media puts pro-life men against pro-abortion women. It is an intentional bias. The various pro-life female leaders in the country make up one of the most intentionally ignored demographics in America. There are plenty of them out there. But it is the men who get the calls.

It is the media trying to convey that Christofascist men in the GOP want to stop women from exercising “their rights.” It’s part of the growing trend to call the pro-life community “anti-choice” or “anti-abortion” as an editorial control instead of using the old media editorial direction to call various groups by what those groups choose to be called as a group.

It’s the way the game has been played for far too long. It should also be a wake up call to the pro-life community that they need to do a better job working with pro-life candidates so, when they are asked the difficult questions, they do not walk into awkward soundbites about which they must do damage control.

The pro-life community has gotten far too comfortable being in the majority in this country. They should not take for granted that a majority of Americans consider themselves pro-life when the majority of people delivering the news to that pro-life majority are actively hostile to the very notion of protecting the life of Americans not yet outside the birth canal.

I’m sending Richard Mourdock some money and you should too. His position is one millions of Americans share, but you’d never know it from the media’s coverage.
