New Hampshire, Tear Down This Firewall

You have a choice, New Hampshire, an important choice, a life-style choice.

Like our motto says, you can “Live Free or Die,” a free self-reliant citizen of New Hampshire, proud of yourself and proud of your state and your country.  Or you can “Live Dependent and Die,” withering away as a slave of the Nanny State, subject to the government and an apologist for yourself, your state, and your country.

It is your option, but recognize that it may be your last choice.  The United States of America is dangerously close to the point where a majority of the voters are vassals of the state, reduced to relying on the largesse of the government for their livelihood, and economically forced to vote for the continuance of the Nanny State.  As Mark Steyn puts it, “This election represents the last exit ramp before the death spiral.”

Disagree? Consider Obama’s record:

  • Unemployment is extremely high, 7.8% by the most optimistic of estimates.  The available workforce has shrunk because of lack of jobs.  The A. F. Branco cartoon from Legal Insurrection tells it all.
  • Economic growth is at breakeven and shrinking, barely creeping along at a pace equal to the growth of the population.
  • During the Obama Administration, welfare has increased 32 percent and now exceeds a trillion ($1,000,000,000,000) dollars a year.  Food stamps are up 47 percent.  Poverty is up 24 percent.
  • Higher education admissions are down for the first time in decades.  On the other hand, violent crime is up for the first time in almost 20 years, way up, 18%.

These are all steps on the slippery slope of the decline of our country’s civilization.  Thanks, President Obama.

Now consider your other choice.

Mitt Romney is a good man, good in the very best sense of the word.  Watch the CBS This Morning video of about five minutes.

At the first debate, the country saw that Mitt is not the capitalist monster that the Obama campaign had described in an ad campaign that cost many millions of dollars.  Mitt was pleasant, polite, aggressive when necessary, assertive as required, and capable, in command of his facts and figures.  In short, a leader.  In the vernacular, Mitt cleaned Barry’s clock at the debate.  Obama found out what happens when you bring a community organizer to a CEO fight (hat tip to Howie Carr).

We saw again the other night at the Al Smith Dinner a Mitt Romney who was pleasant, polite, and very funny.  Another clock-cleaning for the thin-skinned narcissist.

Mitt promises a return to fiscal and monetary responsibility, a reform of the tax code, and a reduction in tax rates that will spur growth; a proven technique used by Jack Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.  Mitt will give us a truly all-of-the-above energy policy that will make us energy self-sufficient.  Mitt will restore our standing among nations, returning us to a trusted ally and a strong opponent.  His message has been heard and his campaign is in the ascendency.

The polls, they are a ‘tightening.  There is panic in the halls of Chicago.  Obama more frequently shows the Harlequin mask impression he uses when nervous (I have seen more sincere smiles on pole-dancers).  The corrective action they plan?  Difficult when you have to run on such a bad record.  Doing nothing is not an option so they have declared a firewall; four states; Iowa, Ohio, Nevada, and New Hampshire.

The New Hampshire way has always been based on self-reliance, with the lowest poverty level and among the lowest taxes in the country.  Can we continue with the Obama campaign considering us a firewall and the shrill Obama NH surrogates, Maggie Hassan, Carol Shea-Porter, and Anne Kuster, screaming the benefits of spend, borrow, and tax?  They promise unlimited electronic benefit cards, Obamaphones, and the other perquisites of selling your vote to the highest bidder.  Larry Kudlow asks, “Is Obama Buying the Election With His Welfare Explosion?”

Do not let them get away with it.  Write letters, make phone calls, call friends, call strangers, display signs and stickers, carry signs, and most important, get out and vote.

New Hampshire (and Iowa and Ohio and Nevada), tear down this firewall.
