A “Responsible Plan to end War in Afghanistan”

(H/T: “Rebuilding” – Obama for America campaign via Hot Air)

Obama thinks this is the epitome of how to fight a war: just bring the troops home, declare victory; done.  Problem is, there’s another side in this war that hasn’t agreed at all to ending the war.  War is NEVER unilaterally declared done until the losing side admits it and the winning side accepts that it has won – and stops.

Problem, too, this tactic has  been tried before (I remember Nixon’s “Peace with honor“) with dreadful results as the Democrats pulled the funding for South Viet Nam.  Millions died as a result; there was no Peace and there was no Honor and the “honor” of the United State suffered mightily from it.  In favor of the war or not; all the deaths of American military went for naught as Viet Nam became Communist.  America didn’t win – it quit.

Message to the clueless – there is no Peace without Victory.  There is no Victory without the other side laying down their arms, quitting, and crying out “no more!”.  That is the message that Obama is declaring.

In favor of the “good war” (as Obama called it in the beginning and in opposition to the war in Iraq) or not, the only side crying out “no more!” is Obama’s side.  Problem is in this case, in this political-ideology-wrapped-in-religion war, the Islamic Jihadists of the Taliban and Al Qaeda are not content – mark my words, they will not stop.

With this ad, Obama screams to the hills: “I have not learned from history; I have freaking idea of how to fight a war – and win”.

It’s like he wants the other side to win, or something….
