Words of Wisdom – even for Jan Schmidt

Advice from a 90 year old wise guy.  Read them – and yes, very wise advice.  This one is my favorite:

41. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have, not what you think you need.

This one is great advice for all – but certainly for a certain Progressive over at the Concord Patch where I cross-posted my “Data Point – Obama: “We’re going to work with your employer to lower the cost of your premiums by up to $2,500 a year.”  Envy is a large part of a Progressive like Jan Schmidt who decided to wade into my fish barrel.  Never satisfied with what they have themselves, or what they think other people should have given what successful people have , they have no problem in taking from others that have more (those rotten scoundrels!) to feed their own souls and bolster their own low self-esteems.

Anyways, here is some of of that wisdom:

1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.     2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.     4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will.     10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.     13. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.     14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.     15. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.     17. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful.  Clutter weighs you down in many ways.     21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.     23. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.     25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.     28. Forgive but don’t forget.     32. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.     36. Growing old beats the alternative — dying young.     40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.
