Jimmy Carter had the Iran Embassy fiasco – now Obama has his Libyan and Egyptian one

He now has his 3am wake up call on 9-11, a day that most Americans still consider a stain on our history as Islamic Fundamentalists attacked their “Great Satan”.  Those jetliner hijackings back in 2001 sent the country into shock – and then howling for righteous retribution against those that had given succor and aid (Afghani Taliban) to those that planned and carried out the plan (Osama Bin Laden and Al Queada).  Regardless of you view of the Iraq war, the process of taking out OBL and AQ began.

On 9-11.  And now, Islamic radicals have attacked our sovereign soil in Libya and Egypt.  In the former, A US Ambassador has been killed, Christopher Stevens, in the American Consulate in Benghazi.  Two US Marines gave their lives to protect the embassy and and another US American as well.  Again, sovereign soil has been attacked.

How’s that Arab Spring working out fer ya, that “soft power”, that “smart diplomacy”, Prez and Hillary, eh?

The embassy in Cairo puts out the equivalent to a “diplomatic bow” to the Egyptian mobs, riled over an anti-Mohammed movie.  Once again, the “religion of peace” goes on the attack – taking down our flag over our embassy, hoisting the AQ flag, and generally acting like the 3rd world country mobs they are.  US Embassy tweets out:

We condemn the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims

Yeah, that porridge of political correctness sits well – instead of standing up for that quaint Classical Western Liberal notion of free speech, especially that which may be seen as offensive, they laid down in submission mode.  They had the spine of a bowl of damp Raman noodles.  Full notification, throwing free speech under the political correctness / Obama bus:

U.S. Embassy Condemns Religious Incitement

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others

This seems to be the only response by Islamists:

The Grand Mufti of Egypt Sheikh Ali Gomaa strongly condemned the movie, AllAfrica.com reports.

“Freedom of speech does not warrant desecrating sanctities,” Gomaa said in a statement Sunday.

Well, what do you know – Politically Correct Americans agreeing with Islamists.  Yes, even if free speech runs counter to your beliefs, it does – that is NOT an abuse of “the universal right of free speech” – for putting any restriction on speech of this type IS.  Giving the impression that the philosophy of our First Amendment, which stems from natural rights, is just for Americans IS an abuse of the “universal” right to free speech (freaking morons!).  WHY did Obama’s staff at the embassy think that they should NOT be protecting what is in our Constitution?  One of its most venerated American values – that to speak one’s mind?  As many others have pointed out already: on this, 9/11, of all days?

Diplomacy by political correctness – and fear of not being liked anymore (a pox on the notion that Obama has actually, you know, made them like us in the first place).

Er no, this is diplomacy by obeisance and submission.

So, how is Obama going to handle this? In many cases, he votes “Present”.  Will he do a “work-alike Present” now?  How does one “Lead from behind” here?
