Blogline of the Day – Professor Paul Rahe

Chivalry: Coat Over Puddle For LadyI watched Susan Rice, Obama’s Ambassador to the UN on the Sunday morning shows making a complete asshat of herself by:

  • By even trying to try to make us all believe that some poorly done movie short could be the sole reason for her fellow Ambassador’s assassination (really, what kind of a “protest” comes fully equipped with RPGs and heavy weapons?)
  • Gentlemen during the age of Chivalry use to lay down their coats for ladies to safely cross a puddle; Rice laid down and let Obama figuratively use her as the coat.  It reminded me of the Clinton’s Cabinet when they all came out to defend his “I did not have sex with that woman” (yeah, they got used…).

Paul Rahe, one of my favorite bloggers, had the best line of the day:

“It used to be the case that a diplomat was an honorable man who went abroad to lie for his country. In the Age of Obama, a diplomat is a dishonorable woman who goes on television to lie for her President.”
