The story doesn’t say if her husband was not around, no husband, boyfriend, or anything else. Just her and her children. The great Equalizer? Nope, not the gun, although that certainly played the role. It is, however, her attitude
– that is the great Equalizer in my eyes. While law enforcement is there for our protection, they can’t be everywhere all the time. While Liberals would tell others (and themselves) that we should outsource one of our most important Rights, she rightly knew that when things go south in a hurry, the responsibility to protect herself and her family rests on her shoulders. I also applaud that she has taught her kids the same philosophy – that self-responsibility and self-ownership trumps political correctness over guns. No, they didn’t have firearms, but they did arm themselves with dangerous weapons – sharp axes and butcher knives are nothing to be trifled with. Mom made a line in the sand – and he crossed it, giving us another object lesson: say what you mean, mean what you say. She said stop, he didn’t, she meant what she said: Bang!
Guess he got an object lesson as well: there’s a price and a consequence for being stupid (for believing that females would not fight back – and win). As Glen said in channeling Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail: “he chose poorly”. I agree with this:
