Peter Bolster for NH Senate District #6 – an Editorial for Truth in Advertisment

PeterBolsterForSenateReasonableChoiceForDemocrats_procUpdated and Bumped:  Grok Reader Bob saw this and asked that I update this post given that it is out of date – Bolster quickly gave up his delusions of a NH Senate run and is now running to retain his seat in the NH House, I should make sure that folks knew if they came across this post.  While what his sign says (NH District 6) is now out of date – given that he IS a former Democrat, and VOTES like a Democrat (another one of those that is using the Republicans to get elected), my little addition to his sign is STILL applicable.

BTW, We are STILL in the process of putting up our video interview with Jane Cormier who is primarying him in September in Belknap County District 8 (Alton, Barnstead, and Gilmanton) – another one will go up later on today (I hope!  If you want to see how often erstwhile Democrat turned Republican is voting the Party platform, just use the search field in the top right of the sidebar, put in Peter Bolster, and see what his definition of “supporting Republican issues” are.  When one looks at the House Republican Alliance Score for him (who measures bill votes directly against the Republican Party), this is what you will see:

House

Number Number %

Alliance Platform Bills of Bills
Name Party County District 04/06/12 Votes Voted Bills Voted
Peter Bolster R Belknap 5 46.00% 44 95 105 90.00%

Yeah, it kinda sucks that, you know, somebody is actually watching your votes, eh?  There are DEMOCRATS that vote more in line with the Republican Party than he does.

And there is another rating – The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance that looks at every bill with respect to an eye on does this bill enhance or detract an individual’s personal liberty to live their life their way:

Pro-liberty votes protect individual freedom of choice and personal responsibility, recognize the superiority of freedom over coercion, respect the citizen’s right of self-ownership, promote governance that is transparent, accountable, and adheres to the Constitution, and recognize the value of voluntary economic decisions.

Anti-liberty votes attempt to replace self-governance with interventionist regulation, assume rules made by agencies backed by force are superior to voluntary choices backed by personal accountability, and assume a better economy can be managed by a central authority that compels people and businesses to pay for policies they may not willingly support.

Here’s another way of looking at it – Does Peter believe in voting FOR BIGGER GOVERNMENT or smaller government?  Peter got  C (2011 rating; 2012 is not out yet) – given that GraniteGrok is all about individual liberty and freedom, we think you can pick a much

The Bigger The Government, the smaller the citizen – how does Peter Bolster fit into that?
