“Indiana First State to Allow Citizens to Shoot Law Enforcement Officers”

This comes under the title of “Home invasions of the official type.” So query: Should citizens be allowed to forcibly resist illegal entry of police officers into their homes? Why yes, of course, if illegal actions are being taken. So…read on:

“Police officers in Indiana are upset over a new law allowing residents to use deadly force against public servants, including law enforcement officers, who unlawfully enter their homes. It was signed by Republican Governor Mitch Daniels in March.”

I’ve been political my entire life, starting out with Barry Goldwater and The Conscience of a Conservative in the1960's. In 1967 I enlisted in the U.S. Marines for four years, spending nearly two of them in South Vietnam.     you would think that this would be a good reason for SWAT teams to start using GPS. “oops wrong house” raids will be a thing of the past. maybe they’ll start using SWAT an no-knock raids as a LAST resort instead of the first. nah. what am I thinking. no-knock raids usually aren’t about officer safety, they’re about intimidation and POWER. most cops do them because they CAN, not because they have to.

    If the homeowner is innocent of any crime, and knows it, and if his door is kicked in in the dead of night, it is either criminals, or the police state has arrived. In either case, heavy self defense is required.
    If the local police have reason to believe that a crime may have been committed which requires them to enter my property, then they can come at a polite time and knock to present their warrant. If some thug who is not local police, and does not come equipped with a warrant and accompanied by my local police or sheriff, tries to force entry into my property, then he is a criminal.
    The constitution, regardless of unconstitutional federal laws, requires a warrant for a search, and not a self-signed one, either.
    Anyone kicking down a door and surprising the homeowner should expect to be shot.
    Castle doctrines need to be strengthened everywhere.
    And police need to be very careful of their information sources: See SWATting.
