The Tea Party is Dead My….A**! – Indiana’s Richard Mourdock Wins in What Looks Like a Landslide

With 55% of the vote in Richard Mourdock, the Republican primary challenger to too-long time Senator Dick Lugar, has 60% of the vote.  By all accounts Mourdock is heading for a landslide primary victory and has already been declared the victor according to NBC news.

Lugar, for his part, is already throwing his support behind the winner for the general election.

And the Democrats, well, they are already calling Mourdock extreme.  Yeah, I know.  Property rights, free speech, right to self defense–crazy stuff.

Mourdock was heavily supported by Conservatives and those no longer relevant TEA Party folks, which has to send a chill down whatever passes for a spine among the establishment on both sides of the aisle.  This is good.  Mark the moment.  It could solidify another Republican landslide this November.

Hey Democrats.  That’s the cold finger of political death. Feel it? Now go fetch your palm cards and find some new rhetoric.

The 80 year old Lugar, the establishment candidate who even resorted to some left wing style “my opponent will be pushing grandma off the cliff” campaign tactics near the end, can now look forward to his retirement…probably as a political “consultant.”
