Atheists to USMC: Take Down Crosses Or We’ll Sue

“Some people will spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don’t have that problem.”  Ronald Reagan, President of the United States; 1985

Every Veteran ought to be disgusted. An atheist group is saber-rattling, threatening legal action over crosses erected on Camp Pendleton Hill, demanding the removal of the crosses. This group, calling themselves the, Military Association of Atheists and Free Thinkers, criticizes the United States Marine Corps Command at Camp Pendleton for not muting this heartfelt expression of honor by  individual Marines: A hallowed expression for those fallen in combat actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. Despicable!

These critics claim that permitting the memorial cross is inappropriate and violates the Establishment Clause. Nothing could be further from the truth. As Jay Seculow, Chief counsel for the American Center for law and Justice wrote in his letter to the Camp Pendleton command,

Crosses are an apt, appropriate, and constitutionally permissible means of honoring and commemorating the sacrifice of those who have given their life for their comrades and their country.

As a Marine, there was a term used to describe those individuals who scoffed at the values, traditions and stalwart pride of the Corps — “Sh*t birds.” This neo-social meddling and progressive bad behavior falls into the category of what “Sh*t birds” do after leaving military service.

The central core of our military has traditionally drawn its volunteers from middle-class, Christian-based American families. Only one per-cent of our population serves our country’s all-volunteer military. Anybody who has ever served in the Marine Corps understands, “God, Corps, Country.  That theme proliferates today.

In the last ten years, however liberal progressives have undertaken to waging war on our military services, transforming our nations’ defense into a social playground for progressive social policies: The “sissification of the military.” And to its’ credit, the Marine Corps bucks that trend. If these folks have their way, American Hegemony will be dead and out forces will resemble something looking more like the Dutch Military. ( you really have to see those pansies, up close and personal to really appreciate the full gist of it.)

In the years I served in the Marine Corps, I never met an atheist in uniform. And I am glad I didn’t either. Those of us who put on the uniform, took up arms and laid our lives on the line four our nation, did so because we truly believed in America, its ideals and its constitution. Not some leftist-progressive pandering and stifling of free speech we see here today.

I hope Colonel Marano quotes,  General  James Mattis, !st Marine Division Commander, when he once told Iraqi tribal leaders, “I come in peace, I didn’t bring artillery.  But I am pleading with you with tears in my eyes:  If you f*ck with me, I’ll kill you all.”
