Tyranny of the Pen – but in spinning, Obama’s Jack Lew leaves a glaring and obvious hole

Jack Lew used to be Obama’s Budget Director – well, given that the Democrat controlled Senate has now gone 1,100 days since passing a budget (as the law requires), methinks he has had little to do.  Now given that Daley didn’t make nice (or couldn’t) with Jarrett or Michelle, he was elevated to The One’s Chief of Staff and he made the rounds of all of the major Sunday talking head shows.  Pretty much, same speech, same words…

… and each and every time, Sherlock’s dog wasn’t barking.  Good thing he wasn’t testifying in court, as he would have been held in contempt for not “telling the whole truth”.  Just like Jeanne Shaheen, it is obvious that the values we hold dear and can plainly read in the Constitution are not those of Lew or Obama. In this, Lew is helping Obama to “…fundamentally transforming the United States of America” in arguing for Obama’s HHS rule to establish primacy of Government to determine what is a religious organization or not (and therefore, which falls under First Amendment protection or not).

He pretty much made the same argument using pretty much the same words on each and every one of the Sunday talking head shows.  The only one that tried to challenge him was Fox News Sunday (and even at that, I think that Chris Wallace did not have his finest game on tap).  It was obvious that Lew was spinning as fast as a windmill in a hurricane – and it was obvious as he tried to defend Obama’s “conciliatory” redo of the religious exemption of institutions being force to provide employees with contraception services (including sterilization, abortifacients, and abortion) and thus, violating their core theological tenets and morality.  Simply stated, he would not allow that this is a Government overreach into the heart of religious theology and governance – simply “why can’t you morons understand this is ‘for the women’ with our revised policy?”

“The President has a very deep belief that every  woman right to all forms of preventive healthcare including contraception. He also has a very deep belief that it is one of our core principles of our country that we have to respect the religious liberties of this country is built on.  The solution we have reach is consistent with those core principles.”

He is trying to make us believe that each of those are both of those things, contraceptives and Religious freedom, are actual Rights and is depending on the fact that most of the population is thinking “yeah, that sounds ok” because they simply were not taught the actual Rights.  No one would argue that it wouldn’t be nice that any woman have  access to contraception, but his “dog ain’t barking” by his glossing over that our Constitutional Rights are given to us by our Creator.  Neither does he mention that to exercise those Rights demands anything from anyone else.  That is not so with this “pseudo-right” of access to contraceptive.

The reason?  Having “access” means that a person could purchase such if they wanted.  However, Obama is redefining “access” to mean “I have access to it because someone else pays for it”.  Once again, redistribution is at the forefront of his (and Jeanne Shaheen’s) ideology – not freedom (unless you redefine Freedom as simply Freedom from Want).

And not once does Jack Lew mention how the Obama administration has the power to force a company, the insurance company, to give something to someone else for free. In essence, Government now has the power to force you to pay for other peoples’ sex and have you like it.  Nice slight of hand (or is that silver and forked tongue?)

Let’s go back a point: either Jack is lying because he is stupid or is lying because he lying.  WHO, then, if the woman is not paying for her contraception, and the Catholic institution is not paying for it, then the insurance agency is going to be paying for it (or so he would have you believe).  TANSTAAFL  and remember, the whole point of Obama care is to run insurance companies out of business.  Women have the choice on their own” – but how come WE don’t have the choice, Jack??

Where does Prez get the power to force others to offer a product for free?  He avoids the question with the “actuarial cost” of having a baby being less than the cost of providing contraception.  Even if it were true (brings back memories of the argument of letting land stay undeveloped in town – putting in houses means more kids in the schools, needing more teachers and costing more for those schools and more services to fund for other stuff.  Sheer BS, as it depends on a singular question – exactly how MANY babies extra (or not), Jack?  No answer on that one.

Lew keeps insisting that this does not force a religious institution to pay for this – but won’t talk about the self-insured ones.  Large companies do not use insurance companies with respect to paying premiums as most people think.  Instead, they self-insure – which means they use some other agency to handle the paperwork (often an insurance company) but actually pay claims themselves.  So, this “revised policy” still forces religious institutions to pay for something that violates their religious / moral precepts.

During his entire interview on FNS, he holds up the “Right” of women to get this entitlement to be higher than Religious value actually enumerated in the Constitution.

“What we have here is a policy that reflects  bringing together of two very important principles in a way that is true to the American tradition.”

The issue is not over “covering tens of millions of Americans”, as Lew puts it, but what is the government interference that it creates as well as the tossing aside of the Constitution. THAT is not a long standing tradition!

Their policy is set.  Religious institutions must comply and have only 13 months to transition, in some shape or form, to ditch their beliefs (such is the religious tolerance of the Left?).  Thus, Catholics and all other religious institutions are being forced to redo their theology to fit the Administration’s ideology.  All hail Priest Obama (and his accolytes, Jack Lew and Jeanne Shaheen).  “For the Children!” has been supplanted by “For the Women!”.

Or is that “For the Sex!” as the highest calling of our Republic?
