Which is worse – less support for TEA Party or the public seeing Occupy Wall Street as a public nuisance?

William Tucker over at Boo-hoo Hampsters is trying to make the case that the TEA Party is done and going (to which I have some remarks here):

An NBC News/Marist poll released late Friday showed that for the first time, 53 percent of likely Republican primary voters said they are not supporters of the tea party, while 40 percent said they are supporters and seven percent were unsure.

OK, given the rain of call of “extremists!” (er, simply for wanting to actually following our Constitutions??) by the Progressives / Liberals / Democrats, I could see where there was some erosion of support.  But given that self-identifying Liberals only make up 20% of the population and self-identifying Conservatives has been climbing to now reach 40%, I’ll take that!

He then tries to make the case that their version of the TEA Party, Occupy NH (the mixed bag of usual suspects of Communists, Socialists, and hangers-on [leavened, at least here in NH, with some good Libertarians], is now supplanting the middle / working class folks that are tired of seeing their taxes misused for overbloated government with programs that go to the crony and politically connected, tired of the politicians spending beyond our means, and government inserting itself into every facet of our individual lives.

What William Tucker DIDN’T show you was this poll:

Enough is enough as far as most voters are concerned when it comes to the Occupy Wall Street protesters.  In fact, 51% of Likely U.S. Voters now view the protesters as a public nuisance.

Heh!  And add this:

Only 39% see them as a valid protest movement representing the frustrations of most Americans.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey also finds that just 24% think the Occupy Wall Street protesters who first began their protests in early October have gotten their message across to the American people.

Kinda says that OWS has been a flop (as there are still more people supporting the TEA Party than OWS) – the only thing that OWS has beat the TEA Party in (other than in arrests, rapes, theft, rats, tons of garbage) has been to repeat Obama’s call to hate “the 1%” and take their wealth from them.
