Mitt Romney: The Matthew Lesko of American Politics

My opponent isn’t pro-choice or anti-choice, he’s multiple choice.”   —Senator Edward M Kennedy on Romney during the 1994 Senate Election

When Mitt Romney came to New Hampshire in June and announced his candidacy, One of the first visceral reactions I had was that Mitt could not win against Obummer. Not for all the conventions and opinings currently swirling about, but for the simple facial evaluation that the man in not honest. He is too phony, fake and disingenuous. His Flip flops are well-documented in the 2008 campaign by the very moderate-RINO that endorsed him…John McCain.

Romney flip-flopped on Second Amendment issues. Always did that which was politically expedient for him to do. In 1994 Romney supported the assault weapons ban, the Brady Bill and a waiting period and went on as Governor to sign one of the toughest pieces of assault weapons legislation in the country. Despite, Romney also having signed some favorable gun legislation measures into law as governor, his track record deems him unreliable to the pro-gun constituency. And just to be sure, shooting at a few varmints as a youth and then shot gunning a quail on a game preserve no more makes him a hunter than  petting a dog or a cat makes me a member of PETA. I am a hunter and I know a hunter when I meet one or see one. Mitt Romney is no Hunter.

Romney once called Republican nominee McCain’s proposal on immigration reform, “Reasonable” yet railed against it as “Amnesty” a year later.  Romney leaves in his wake the same inconsistencies in response to Gay rights.

Romney is little more than a big-government moderate who will promise goodies, while touting fiscal restraint.

Nice of you to mention me in your critique of Mitt Romney, but I resent your armchair analysis of my honesty based on facial expressions. It’s laughable.  I know writers want to create clever copy, and I am a widely recognized “go-to” name for a quick reference – but it is clear that you are looser with the facts than Mitt Romney. For the past 30 years I have maintained a database of 17,000 government programs, – all information from public documents.  I am simply trying to show taxpayers the programs that were put into law by politicians like Mitt Romney and others. It would be more of a public service if you went to http://www.lesko.com and tried to identify any program that is actually dishonest. P.S. We have millions of customers, and I have a better Consumer Record at the Better Business Bureau than Bill Gates.  We have ZERO unsatisfied customers. See http://www.lesko.com/customers/

Wow….Where to begin Mr. Lesko? Well, let us begin with my “visceral” impressions of you. Having seen your TV ads so many times, I am left with these one-word impressions…Enthusiastic….Fastidious…A man we can laugh “with”…I mean, to wear a funky suit covered in question marks and those crazy eye glasses? Now that is a fun-loving guy who might likely be a people person. Somebody who is approachable and even tempered…upbeat.

Upon reading your response, I re-read my post carefully….I cast no aspersions on you personally or the “gub’ment” money that your pimping. In fact, there is something to be admired about one who can take the time, energy and effort to wade through all of the effluent that rises out of that sewer we call the beltway and provide something from which  some of the unwashed masses can benefit.

But in a Macro sense I don’t opine that to be a good thing. It was that vile human being, George Bernard Shaw who said, “A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.”  And there is something to be said about the context of your commercials…You use the word, “Free” excessively.  I think that is not just a misnomer, but a rank untruth. Any who have taken economics knows what the, “fundamental economic problem” is. And, that is the,  ”unlimited wants within the pool of limited resources.” I mean, you know this, your a highly educated guy, but I share it to give you my frame of reference. that is all.

In the present political landscape, our national budget is roughly 3 trillion dollars, yet we spend 4.5 trillion….Somewhere, in all those trillions lay the sources of the “free money” you so enthusiastically pimp.

In 2005, Bernard Goldberg wrote, “100 people who are Screwing Up America” and you made the cut@32721286b0d3ad89b2a47bf498ee5809:disqus !  Thus, is why I am so intrigued that you might take offense at my caricature of Mittens…I never said you were screwing up America. After all, that case has already been made.

In my humble blogger opinion, my thesis is that Willard Mittens, Gromit, Romney is a snake oil salesman….representing himself to be something he is not. His defenders cite his great works as the Bay State Governor, but even Mussolini made the trains run on time. And like you, Mitt makes his pitch with the intent of widest appeal….regardless of how bad his concepts  really are for this nation’s future.
