In the process of getting to ‘Grok 2.0 was extracting all of the old posts from the old site. In the process, we learned that WP could only accept a maximized file size of 8MB for importing. So, being that the file was a 47MB text file (just text and links – no images, no video, and no MP3s) I had to cut it up into smaller chunks. While waiting for the new site to Go Live, I stumbled onto Wordle.net which takes a bunch of text and creates a text cloud (the more a word is in the sample, the larger font is used to display that word).
Silly me – spent an entire day getting rid of the html code in the whole file, shoved it into Wordle, and it broke. So, Plan B was to use the smaller chunked files. Same process (a couple / few hours to manually edit the file) to prepare this of 2006 on the ‘Grok:
It will be interesting how this changes over the years….
