MSM sharks – the “press avail” (or should that be “shark tank”) with Channel 9 WMUR’s Amy Coveno

Tonite was a great “teachable moment” in how the MSM can make anyone appear in a bad light – all it takes is an uppity attitude, a whiny voice, a TV camera, and a pre-determined narrative.

I made it downstairs it to the press availability (already in progress) after the event – it was CLEAR that the press had an agenda and they were pursuing it like sharks attracted by chum in the water. All of the reporters there were yelling to get their questions answered – decorum?  What’s that? – and they were all of a single mind with the narrative of “when are you going to quit?!?!?!?!?!”  and they all seemed to be flummoxed that he hadn’t already quit already.

All I could think of was “Gee, mainstream press, how come the ONLY one of you lot that pursued the John Edwards story with equal vigor was…the National Enquirer?”  Remember, that story turned out to be true, actually turned out to be great gumshoeing and reporting, and the MSM elite elite denied them a Pulitzer Prize because of they were a “grocery store tabloid”.

In essence, it seems that the MSM has no problem in pursuing a Conservative / Republican to the Nth degree on any single detail and be rather angry if they don’t get what they want (remember, almost all newsrooms lean WAAY Left as I have blogged about before), but on the story that would hurt “their side”?  Bring out the cotton balls and make sure to grease those skids.

The worst tonite?  The Faux Outrage Prize goes to Amy Coveno of WMUR Channel 9‘s hissy fit when she decided to follow in her co-fellow reporter (and NH WMUR Prez Debate) Josh McElven‘s footsteps as he got caught by a couple of Michelle Bachmann supporters while talking after the Debate with the CNN moderator John King; I wrote at the time:

Well, it seems quite obvious that these two chuckleheads have proved my point as in “let’s make the Republicans look petty, argumentative, and start a food fight”.  Thus, instead of merely reporting the news, they were actively trying to make the news, to start the skewing of public opinion.

I’ve got the video of her and will post it tomorrow morning.

Now, I just saw her “live” 11pm report where she said that “things got a little tense” at the press avail.  Listen, Ms. MSM, YOU were the one that got “tense” and way bent out of shape – “a ham-fisted acting job” would be way too nice a way to put it.  Look, lady, you shrilled your way through the question, tried to put words in his mouth, and you got caught.  By a lowly blogger, as you thought that none of your fellow journalists would never tattle on you (actually, they’d help you in your bereavement for getting slapped back).

And if you don’t like this talk, then prove it when Obama next comes to town and use the same ‘tude with him (or any other Dem of national rank) to show “fair and balanced”.  We Conservatives get upset when you grill Republicans – fair enough, that’s your job.  We really go livid and change the channel to Fox News when you decide to go all patty-cake with your fellow Democrats and Progressives.

After all, at the Washington Press Corp Dinner where Obama let this loose:

Most of you all covered me…

most of the assembled press in attendance laughed.  And then he added:

…but all of you voted for me.

And he got a standing O.

Nice to see you standing tall, Amy, in making the news instead of just reporting it….

Update: BTW, Amy, if you had done your homework, you would have known better than to “outburst” your question of “you haven’t talked to your wife???”.  Herman had already said he had talked to his wife – while talking to Neil Cavuto  on Fox News at 4pm today (which I listened to before taking off for Manchester; NRO reminded me, but I bet you don’t read that either)
