A NH GOP Legislative Masterstroke

A proposed NH state constitutional amendment banning the introduction of a state income tax has been voted out of committee with a recommendation that it "Ought To Pass." The full State House will vote on it in January. Not surprisingly, Democrats deplore it—great angst!—because their true agenda is being exposed to open examination and debate. That is…

…New Hampshire Democrats are "for" anything that increases taxing, spending, regulations, and state government power.

Republicans, by contrast, are concretely showing that they are in favor of reducing taxes, reducing spending, reducing regulations, and basically leaving New Hamsphire citizens alone so they can live their lives and conduct their affairs as they see fit. Radical notion, that.

In the past, the idea of presenting a state constitutional amendment to the people of New Hampshire has always been blocked by…the Republicans! Why? Because yesterday’s Republicans were actually "Democrats in drag" who ran as "fake conservatives" in order to get elected. They were liars, in other words, but they lied for a good cause…to get themselves elected!

Today’s New Hampshire Republican Party—under the superlative legislative leadership of Speaker of the House Bill O’Brien—is not a "fake conservative" party, it’s the real thing. That fact is proven by the impending passage of the No-State-Income-Tax constitutional amendment. The weeping and wailing by the Democrats has two reasons: One, their true tax-and-spend, big-government agenda is being exposed, and two, the debate over the issue has gone public! They HATE that! Take a look at the wildfire debate taking place in the online Union Leader found at the end of the UL article HERE. It’s great, and here’s hoping it continues.
