Obama’s “cool” getting trumped by Cain’s “Happy Warrior”?

All during the last cycle, Barack Obama was hailed as "the Cool One" – No Drama Obama!  The reality is that his coolness has turned into aloofness during the last couple of years and the real Obama is coming out – the petty, at times snarling, Community Organizer in Chief who cannot stop demonizing the opposition.  It is who he is (even as he admitted he wasn’t a good one).   While he enjoys the trappings of office well enough, his grasp of policy, and setting the direction of that policy (as seen by his failed Jobs Stimulus II that couldn’t even muster up enough Democrat support in the Senate), leaves one only thinking "he’s voting present again".  In fact, it is almost to the point of turning "present" to AWOL. His jokes fall flat, and even his attempts as self-deprecation always have to point in somebody else’s direction.  He’s humorless much of the time, perfectly fulfilling what Erick Erickson wrote:

He has singlehandedly revived a stereotype many people thought had been forgotten — the humorless liberal

And now he’s losing even the Hope & Change dupes; Rassmussen:

Cain 43, Obama 41

But there’s another reason: after watching Herman Cain in large settings, in small settings, working a crowd, and putting up with this ordinary schlub of a blogger asking him question after question with one-on-ones, there IS only that one conclusion that he exudes that not all of the other candidates can be: THE HAPPY WARRIOR!

You can argue with some of his process, but he shows he’s willing to take a risk with both his policies and himself.  Erick continues:

….If we can’t laugh about it, we’d be crying about it. But Herman Cain is an optimist with a sense of humor. He’s not retreating from his positions. He’s laughing about the incompetence of both political parties letting a situation get so out of hand.

The Left are all OVER Herman’s statement about electrifying a fence at the border.  Humorless twits all – because I laughed at this (the full accounting):

I’m going to build a wall twenty feet high, cover it in barbed wire, and electrify it. I’m going to put a big sign on it that says if you touch this, it will kill you. Then I’m going to dig a big moat as long as a football field and I’m going to fill it with alligators.

If anyone can climb that wall, swim that moat, fight off the alligators and live to tell about it, I’m going to find them a job.

And honestly, someone that can sing this shows that he doesn’t always take himself seriously – a trait that has been sorely lacking for both Obama and for us. Do you REALLY think that Obama could even contemplate pulling this off?
