Dodd-Frank: And how much innovation time does it cost?

Progressives are always all in on Government is benign and never a thought to how much Government costs the private sector (although they are always yelling about how much tax cuts, otherwise known as "allowing the money earners keeping more of what they earned, "cost" the Government.

Already, Sarbanes-Oxley is costing medium sized companies in billions in lost opportunities and extra costs as well as the shifting of the IPO marketplace from American shores (that’s right, Government killing off an area of the economy that used to be a premier feature of the United States).  And Dodd-Frank?  Here’s one early estimation:

And that doesn’t even consider what the Law of Unintended is about to levy…

Progressives will pout that Dodd-Frank is going to create jobs.  Sure it will, but they never consider the type or value of the job created and never consider the same of jobs that disappear because of the increased costs and lowered overall productivity.  And then their only retort is "Un-American!" or Greedy as formerly  American businesses are moving their headquarters and factories off-shore as Government makes it just too hard to compete.  It never occurs to them, nor will they admit to, that while a light hand on regulation can be helpful, they’ve turned their Regulation Machine into an Obese one.
