Fee fie foe fumble: Bachmann appeals to the faithful

Today, anybody who had ever donated to Bachmann got an invitation to an “exclusive” confrence call for top supporters only.
The call’s purpose was billed as “We’ll talk about the state of the race and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead”.

Well, I didn’t register, but the phone rang anyway to connect me for a truly transcendental experience. Since call was unsolicited, I feel no compunction about reporting on it- maybe Bachmann will add me to HER Federal do not call list!

First observation: Where’s Bo Snerdley when you need him – call screening was horrible, with no real questions and lots of people seeking confirmation of their views.
Second observation was that the handler/introducer had been borrowed from a televangelist: lines are open now, please dial *0 now to make your donation and secure your very own miracle!
But wait, there’s more! If you’ll donate now, we’ll invite you to the inauguration on the way to the rapture! (And I’ll dance with you all!)

Answers were not crisp, and were pandering to the callers, meandering in a way which would instantly disqualify her in an open forum with other candidates.
Both Michele and her pitchman blatantly and repetitively exhorted the listeners to donate, and kept bragging about her amazing win in Iowa at “The first real election of the primary season”, whatever that means.

The listeners in this room kept cringeing, and compared Michele’s conference call very unfavorably with one held by Gingrich when he was under maximum stress.

At the end, we were no wiser about the state of the campIgn, but we’re sure Michele Bachmann is not the one to make Obama a one term president.

Bottom line- she’s a great congresswoman, but is not close to being an incisive and articulate CEO.

Move along people, there’s nothing to see here except a train wreck.
