Where is the outrage?

You know, we’ve been warned several times by China that we had to get our financial house in order over the last year or so as the Obama Administration (and prior Administrations) have spent, spent some more, and then spent us almost into default.

Sidebar: I just shook my head when I saw this post title at JammieWearingFool: "Irony Meter Explodes: Geithner Says European Nations Must Get ‘Fiscal House’ in Order."  Kettle, pot, hole in each

Even a Communist country does not want to waste its money, and certainly they have a lot of theirs invested in a lot of ours.  The update from China’s official Xinhau news agency agency on Saturday released this statement about the credit downgrade:

"The U.S. government has to come to terms with the painful fact that the good old days when it could just borrow its way out of messes of its own making are finally gone."

I’m of the age where much of my life was spent pre-1989, the year that the Wall was brought down in Germany, signaling the end of the Cold War.  We spent decades and trillions of dollars fighting Communism; now, our political leaders have to be lectured by more Communists on how to be a good capitalist Government?  How utterly humiliating is it to be scolded over our lack of fiscal discipline by Communist China.

This is a great reason why we need to bring something back to society for other than for use for Lefty Political Correctness:

…shame and stigma. Why do the White House and Senate leadership have no shame?  Why are they allowed to get away with squandering the treasure of the US!  Why have they  willingly debased the good name and reputation of America?

Or is this just another manifestation of "Determined Weakness", the implicit policy that Obama has seemingly followed since taking office? Did he come out over the weekend with an official statement by him concerning the precipitace drop of the DOW on Friday?

No.

Did he come out over the weekend with an official statement by him concerning the S&P downgrading of the US credit rating from AAA to AA+ when it changed from being rumor to an actuality?

No.

Did he even take any responsibility for it, or for the continued meltdown of the DOW today (I watch in shocked listening to him and watching the DOW drop faster the longer he talked).

No.

I read somewhere "Leaders solve problems; cowards lay blame".  During his speech, I saw no acceptance of responsibility, only the usual platitudes (C’mon, really – "America will always be a AAA country"?).  He didn’t even acknowledge that the Chinese had told us to cut both our discretionary spending AND our military budget.  Frankly, I think Obama is ONLY going to listen to the second half of that.

You know, Obama is taking a POUNDING for today’s speech; having all weekend to prepare, and being late to boot to his own Presser – lightweight doesn’t begin to address the content or the pseudo "I’m cool, there’s no icebergs ahead of us" calm he tried to portray.

I remembered that old saw that great societies are not conquered, they collapse from within. Our financial reserves have been shot, our population is being demoralized and made dependent on a bloated government, the economic engine is being starved (as Obama restricts energy) and beaten down (via the enormous and expensive amount of regulation), and our military is being overworked and about to be tremendously downsized.  And Obama has the gall to smile and say "hey, we’re AAA!".

Americans want to be Number One.  In all things – we are winners first and foremost.  We hate being not Number One.  Sadly, the only Number One that has appeared is this addition to President Food Stamp’s legacy: you lost our AAA rating.

Where is the outrage from ALL Americans? Where is the run on Tar and Feathers (or failing, the Stock)? Not so long ago, if any President (D or R) had allowed our nation to fall into such as precarious state, a furious throng would have descended on the White House and dumped its resident into the Potomac River — and then shouted "Good riddance!" as they went home.  I’m old enough to remember Watergate and the deep emotions it caused from the shame to the office of the Presidency, the sense of national shame.  Where is the anger and sense of betrayal now?

Sadly, I think our national pride has devolved into ideological war.  Instead of a common outlook, we are a divided nation for what this nation stands for and what it will be going forward.  We ARE in a no holds barred war with the Left.  It used to be that being a communist or a socialist was a really bad thing; a betrayal of everything that our heritage stood for.  Now, the fact that we have 1 REAL self-avowed socialist in Congress (Bernie Sanders, VT-I) and 70 Democrat Socialists in Congress as well means that the fundamental transformation of Obama is well underway – it was not waiting for him to arrive on scene.  After having read the Democrat Socialist own foundational docs at their site, they see Obama as achieving their ends so will cover for him.   Ditto the MSM.    Ditto the Educational system.

It is no longer America first – it IS ideology first and they are willing to see America dash itself on the rocks so that they can put it together in their own political image.  They are hoping to be that last man standing to do so, and are putting policies into place to get that to happen.  They blithely believe that they will be the ones that can finally can make Socialism / Marxism work (all previous history to the contrary that ANYONE can make it work).  And having corrupted the free press’s purpose (from being watchdog against Government to cheerleader for the Administration) and the educational system no longer teaching our heritage and its philosophy, they have a good chance at doing it.

Our past success is being used against us – they think that since we have always been successful as a nation, that even after twisting our system 180 degrees if they succeed, it will continue to be successful.

That is, however, a conclusion that is not in evidence.

Be fearful, for the time for being polite has been long over.  It is clear, after the threats sent against the TEA Party these last two years and the last few weeks, the Left has identified us as their most potent opponent.  They know that as the TEA Party continues to grow in numbers and in influence, and with the change in the culture it is bringing at ALL levels of government, their window of opportunity may be closing.

We have to be ruthless as in war – there will be casualties.  As in war, we will need replacements for the foot soldiers (and the TEA Party is working like crazy to awaken people and activate them, one person at a time).  At the top of the pyramid, we need to act like Lincoln: if a general cannot handle the responsibility by merely marching the troops up and down the field, they need to be replaced with one that will bring destruction to the enemy like the March to the Sea (let’s see how many public school high school graduates can grasp that reference).

Yes, there is outrage but there is insufficient outrage as to where our leaders have taken us.  If Obama believes that it is his "Right of Kings" to decree and have others follow, he will continue to be as impotent going forward as he has been the last two weeks.

The TEA Party has been called terrorists and extremists, and worse.  Perhaps it is time to own that label; the MSM has oft used moral equivalence to call real terrorists someone else’s Freedom Fighters.  Long live the Freedom Fighters!
