Think John Lynch Cares about Granite State Sportsmen? Think again…

“Mr. Janet Reno? I think Mr. Janet Reno… I think he’s one of the best hunting dogs in the world.” ~Ted Nugent

Governor Lynch could not give one hoot about those who hunt, fish or trap. Oh yes! He was there…in the flesh on June 17, 2011 at the New Hampshire Moose Lottery sucking up to Peter St. James from 107.7 WTPL, who was there broadcasting the drawing live. “If you get a tag, Peter, will I be going with you?” he asked…Please….I about hurled. John Lynch is no more a hunter than Ingrid Newkirk or Wayne Pacelle. Lefty Lynch’s appearance at the moose lottery was nothing more than a Machiavellian political opportunity that typical hacks are so famous for.

John Lynch does not respect sportsman. I might even guess he probably loathes them, and in his close-knit little circles, refers to us as “Rednecks” or “brain-dead pick-up truck drivers.” But it’s all too common to see him walking around at Discover Wild New Hampshire, glad-handing people with his phony smile and faux sincerity. It’s not the event that he’s there for, but the political opportunity.

Such loathsome attitudes tends to be “systemic” and top down from an organization led by the likes of Lefty Lynch, as evidenced by the treatment of Mr. Charles Corliss of Epsom when he sought out the administration’s intervention when low life  William Jasmin filed suit against him after falling out of a tree stand on Corliss’ property. When Mr. Corliss asked the Attorney General’s office about legal interpretation, He was told, “We’re too busy”  Assistant Senior Attorney General Peter C.L. Roth of DOJ Environmental Protection advised, “Don’t want to be sued? Post your land!”

So, on the one hand, The New Hampshire Fish & Game Department has Chuck Miner who heads up “Landowner relations”.  A man who works tirelessly to convince people not to post their land, allowing it to be open and accessible to recreational activities of all flavors. On the other hand, you have this ignorant hack at DOJ countermanding that mission and goal. But what do we know of Peter Roth…not too terribly much….but we have a thumbnail view into his personal views on Conservation Officers, (Most of which, if not all…are “hunters”) with this little missive called, “Cardinal Points” from 2006. You want my personal opinion? Okay. you have it….This guy is a major league jerk who couldn’t give one hoot about hunting, fishing or trapping. You should have just gave Mr. Corliss the finger ( and the rest of us for that matter) from the front door, Mr. Roth.

Its one thing to be an insensitive jerk to an older man who has done nothing wrong. A man who, has been nothing but generous to those who hunt by making his land accessible to hunters, when some loser comes along and sues him. The response was unprofessional, and demonstrated a rank ignorance to the traditions and current laws we use as our guide…And to be an AG with such a flippant, dismissive attitude, not to mention a loathsome  viewpoint toward those who enforce our game laws. speaks volumes to John Lynch’s leadership.

And to Mr. Roth, I give this parting piece of advice…”If you need friend’s, whatever you do, don’t get a dog…chances are, the dog probably won’t like you…”
