ACTION ALERT!

Liberty lovers, please spend some time today contacting the members of the Committee of Conference on SB 148, which will determine what action the State of New Hampshire takes against Obamacare. SB148, relative to health insurance coverage and declaring that the attorney general should join the lawsuit challenging the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, would:

  • nullify the individual mandate that requires people to buy insurance,
  • nullify any fees or fines associated with not buying insurance,
  • require the Attorney General to join the multi-state lawsuit against Obamacare, and
  • return the funds to Washington that New Hampshire has received to implement Obamacare.

Please tell the committee of conference conferees to use the version of the bill as amended by the House.

From the Senate, contact Sens. Russell Prescott, Tom De Blois and Matthew Houde. From the House, contact Reps. John Hunt,Donald Flanders, Andrew J. Manuse and Frederick Leonard.

  • Tell them that according to the constitution, the Legislature sets policy and the Executive, including the attorney general, implements that policy.
  • Tell them the Legislature should have courage and use its legitimate power to direct the attorney general to join the lawsuit against Obamacare for the good of the whole state.
  • Tell them you voted for them to nullify Obamacare and the attorney general must respect the will of the people and join this lawsuit.
  • Tell them that the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution does not authorize the federal government to force citizens to buy a product, and the State of New Hampshire should stand up for its citizens against an out-of-control federal government policy forcing individuals to buy health insurance.
  • Tell them that Obamacare is a bad law that will make health care more expensive and less effective.
  • Tell them you don’t want to implement any part of that law in New Hampshire, and sending implementation money back to Washington will also send a message that New Hampshire will do health care its own way.

The Committee of Conference will take place at 9 a.m. tomorrow (June 7, 2011) at the State House in room 100. Please e-mail the committee conferees today or come tomorrow to support the House version of SB 162.
