RINO OF THE WEEK REPORT

“Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have.” ~Barry Goldwater

The RINO of the week is eight-term Derry House Representative Kenneth H. Gould.  This week features a genuine RINO because Representative Gould’s voting record shows a consistent with support of issues contrary to Republican values and the party platform. No political party is ever deserving of lock-step blind support, but Gould on the other hand, consistently votes against family, liberty and principles of freedom. His record is one that demonstrates some commitment to a liberal-progressive agenda.

Representative Gould’s record clearly demonstrates that the liberals and progressives can count on his support. Representative Gould has cast the following votes in this session alone:

¨Does not value the rights of the intact family nor the obligations of parents to care and provide for their minor children and voted against CACR9 on March 15.

¨Demonstrated a lack of trust and a rank disregard of the 10th amendment of the U.S. Constitution in voting against HB 125 relative to lawful commerce in firearms, including manufacture and sale, in New Hampshire.on February 15.

¨Voted with Democrats and big labor interests against repealing the state minimum wage, which shows support for having a higher minimum wage at the local level, as opposed to the uniform federal level.

¨Voted against the “Kimberly Cates” bill that would expand the death penalty to those who kill in the conduct of a home invasion.

¨Voted against  HB 156 that would reduce the rate of taxation on tobacco products with the “taxers and spenders” who pander fear about under-aged smoking versus revenue streams.

¨Voted against HB 166 reducing the rate of the rooms and meals tax, again giving support to the tax and spend liberals in concord.

¨Voted against HB 210, commonly referred to as the, “stand your ground” bill providing that citizens may meet force with force when criminally attacked. Obviously, Representative Gould supports criminals assertion of power where otherwise law-abiding citizens must run away at the first instance of a threat.

¨Voted against working families in New Hampshire who object to paying Unions agency fees, commonly referred to as “Right-to-Work.

¨Voted against the bill to repeal the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which imposed a back door tax and regulation on businesses, not otherwise subjected to such a measure in many other states.

¨Voted against HB 329 establishing a parental notification law relative  to abortions performed on unemancipated minors.

It goes without saying that No elected member is going to support each and every bill that is characterized as a bill to enhance liberty or freedom. People are fair-minded and understand that reality. But Representative Gould’s voting record shows a clear consistent record of voting against the prinicples of limited government, liberty and freedom and for that he is the “RINO of the week.”
