Party for Freedom – Nullification LA Style

You have to hand it to those LA folks from the Tenth Amendment Center – they certainly know how to entertain their guests. This weekend, Grokster Mike took a swing through LA to see how the Nullify Now! tour was going, and what a home town event looked like with the Tenth Amendment team.

First, location, location, location – they had secured the top floor (30th) of the AT&T tower in downtown LA for the event, just a few blocks from the revamped downtown area, known as LA Live. A glass penthouse conference facility with stunning panoramic views of the city and foothills, with two bright and airy rooms.

Add, lights, cameras, action – a stage, bands, a bar, vendors, freedom organizations, book signing by Dr Tom Woods (Nullification, Rollback, and many more), and a lecture theater for the more than a dozen speakers.

Networking opportunities abounded during the dinner break, and there was lots of information to absorb, with speakers ranging from the very conservative to the totally libertarian. With a front row seat, your scribe was able to capture photos and video of the event highlights:

Tenth Amendment Center Deputy Director, Bryce Shonka, stirs the audience in a crowded room on the Saturday evening of a holiday weekend. The audience (and party-goers) ranged from college students to grandparents – all solid defenders of our constitutional freedoms.

The “Cool Cat in the Hat”, Tenth Amendment Center Founder and director, Michael Boldin delivers his his inspirational address on the need for state resistance of bad federal laws on behalf of their citizens.

Oathkeepers founder Stewart Rhodes discusses the damage done to the fourth amendment by drug and terrorism laws and inappropriate use of SWAT teams, and the work done by Oathkeepers to educate law enforcement that their primary duty is to the constitution.

Dr Tom Woods, author and historian, delivers the keynote sppech for Nullify Now! Los Angeles to a crowded room at 10pm! In addition to teaching us about the history of nullification and its practical applications today, Dr Woods also described for our amusement the knee-jerk reaction of the establishment, and the fun he had creating the video ‘Interview with a Zombie’ to poke fun at them

See the photos after the jump…
