A Letter From Crazy Aunt Nancy

I just received this in my email. [my comments bracketed and bold]

At this time of year when we gather with family and friends, I want to send you and your family warm wishes for a joyous and peaceful holiday season.

I also want to thank you for your unwavering support of the Democratic Party and your determination to make real change that has improved the lives of millions of your fellow Americans.

[unwavering in my disregard for the democrats efforts to silence dissent, sure.]

This holiday takes on special meaning for millions of Americans who fought to end “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” and for the right of brave gay and lesbian service members to serve openly in the U.S. military. Because of you, these courageous young men and women will no longer have to lie about who they are in order to serve in America’s armed forces.

[Unlike how democrat politicians have and continue to lie about who they are to get elected?  ]

This great civil rights achievement, which President Obama signed into law today, caps a historic session of Congress. Because of you health insurance reform is now the law of the land. Because of you, women must now receive equal pay for equal work. Because of you, a college education is now within reach of millions of young people. And, because of you, we saved the economy from the gravest economic crisis since the Great Depression, reined in the worst excesses of Wall Street and laid the foundation for creating good, middle-class jobs.

[Historic spending….historic debt…historically low approval ratings…historic partisanship…historic corruption…historic disregard for the oath of office…etc.]

This is just a small sampling of what we accomplished together. And, in the new, 112th Congress you can be certain I’ll continue to stand up for the core Democratic values of equality, security and economic opportunity, while extending my hand in bipartisan cooperation to my Republican colleagues.

[Put down the crack pipe Nancy.  You don’t stand for any of these things.]

Democrats and Republicans must work together with President Obama to prepare our nation for the 21st Century. We welcome Republican ideas on how to keep America moving forward in a way that helps all American families.

[After two years of one-party, left wing partisanship, with rules specifically to shut out the minority party and you want us to work with you now?  Good luck with that.]

You have played a critical role in shaping the future course of our country and I look forward to working with you in the coming year.

[Hehe…little do you realize that I have played a  role…in wresting my state back from your local partisan hacks and socialist tax and spenders]

Have a happy and healthy holiday season with your family and friends. And thank you again for your continuing commitment to the Democratic Party and to our country.

[And I am committed… to keeping you in the minority; and at the state level–lost in the wilderness.  And You are welcome.  And Merry Christmas to you too.]

Best Wishes,
Nancy
