Palin Bashing - Granite Grok

Palin Bashing

I stumbled across an open letter by (former?)’Young Democrat’ Douglas Lindner, a primary candidate for Manchester Ward 1 back in 2008.  Lindner narrowly lost the primary (his words).  Narrowly is 268 to 330,350 and 406 for three seats in Manchester Ward 1; I’m thinking he might not have been liberal enough.

But I believe he’s found a fix for that.

In his letter he first congratulates the Republicans on their victory (a very gracious set up), commends the Republicans for selecting the moderate train wreck John McCain in the past two presidential primaries, (even though it was the moderate/independents that swung those victories) and then proceeds to embark on a Palin bashing screed.

I told you he was trying to up his cred.

All I can glean from this is that Mr. Lindner has PDS.  Palin derangement syndrome.  But it’s worse than that.  He also has OAS.  Obama adoration syndrome.  Put together we get scintillating analysis like this.

McCain’s choice of Palin as a running mate was staggeringly irresponsible.

Actually Doug, his choice of Palin was the one thing he did right, the only time in the entire campaign when he was ahead of Obama.  Had the gloom and doom of a bank failure been delayed until after the election, Obama might very well have lost as a result of what you call ‘a staggeringly irresponsible’ decision.  She unified the base around a RINO.  So from a campaign standpoint his choice of Palin was the best chance he ever had of winning given the way he chose to run for the office.  In a business where winning campaigns is the goal “irresponsible” is not the correct word to describe this.

Next line?

Governor Palin’s entry onto the national political stage is an insult to the intelligence of the American people, and especially to that of Republicans.

PDS! PDS! PDS!

I happen to think that democrats bashing her kids, stealing her email, making up stories and trashing her family are an insult to the intelligence of the American people.  I think the death threats, celebrities hoping she gets gang raped and every liberal media pundit repeating lies ad nauseum because they feared the truth is an insult to the American People.  And the hate directed at her by the left was disgusting. The fact that Doug has drunk deep from the same trough and happily regurgitates it is an insult to New Hampshire.

And Lindner’s screed is completely void of substance, as he repeats over and over how America can do better, Republicans can do better, Alaska can do better, women can do better, and most importantly New Hampshire can do better than Sarah Palin.  (Do you think he’s afraid of her?  I do.)

Lucky for us democrats can’t do much better than the likes of Douglas Lindner who promises to vote for Obama no matter who runs.  (And the only person more polarizing than Sarah Palin is no other than Barack Obama.)

While I commend Doug for sticking his neck out and cross-posting his thoughts on a Republican blog, he needs to understand that America has to do better than Barack Obama.  Maybe it’s not Sarah Palin, but almost anyone at this point would do.  If he can’t see that, Doug has a bigger problem than worrying about Palin.
