Congressman-Elect Frank Guinta’s statement on the Republican’s Caucus Vote on Earmark Moratorium

November 18th, 2010

Washington D.C. – Congressman-elect Frank Guinta (R-NH) issued the following statement on his support of the Republican Caucus’ vote to implement an earmark moratorium for two years. Guinta made cutting spending and government transparency hallmarks of his campaign and will work tirelessly to see these principles implemented in Congress.

“The earmark process is a symbol of the out-of-control spending in our nation’s capital. This vote is an important first step in showing the American people that the old ways of Washington are no more.”

“For too long the American people have been subjected to unsustainable increases in deficits and our national debt. Congress must reign in reckless spending, that is why I supported this crucial first step to bring spending under control.”

“On November 2nd voters in New Hampshire and across the country sent a clear message that they want our country to be more fiscally responsible. We must not forget that message when we get to Washington.”
