Data Points – an assortment of “stuff”

I thought these added some value – you may as well:

(H/T: The Enterprise Blog)

Kinda makes you believe that the current crop in Congress just like to see themselves write, eh?  the Dodd-Frank bill totally ignores one of the biggest problem of the recent meltdown – HUD telling Fannie and Freddie to lower their standards to subprime levels to give people money to buy houses that they couldn’t afford in the first place (and in no small matter, the Community Reinvestment Act used by ACORN as a gun against the local banks as well).

In additional to that, how about these stats from the Campaign Spot concerning promises by the present Speaker of the US House, Nancy Pelosi (at whose feet, my two CongressCritters, Carol Shea-Porter and Paul Hodes, worship):

February 25, 2010: While discussing the health-care bill, Nancy Pelosi declares, “It’s about jobs. In its life [health-care reform] will create 4 million jobs, 400,000 jobs almost immediately.”

April 23, 2010: Joe Biden, at a Pennsylvania fundraiser: “I’m here to tell you, some time in the next couple of months, we’re going to be creating between 250,000 jobs a month and 500,000 jobs a month.”

April: 241,000 private-sector jobs created.

May: 33,000 private-sector jobs created.

June: 83,000 private-sector jobs created; 652,000 Americans left the work force.

Net?   -295,000.  Even new math says that’s less than 400,000.  Put this in context – just to keep up with normal population increases, the economy has to be producing about 300,000 / month just to stay even.  So, how’s it working out for us all????

Glen from Instapundit has this observation:

President Obama’s push for General Motors and Chrysler to close thousands of dealerships across the country as part of their government bailouts “may have substantially contributed to the shuttering of thousands of small businesses and thereby potentially adding tens of thousands of workers to the already lengthy unemployment rolls, all based on a theory and without sufficient consideration of the decisions’ broader economic impacts.”

Obama is a job-killer, it seems. At least when it comes to private-sector jobs.

From Dune: "Fear is the mind-killer".  Well, rather than Heisenberg’s, the Obama Uncertainty Principle is "the economy-killer".

Remember this chart I posted during the Obamacare debate?

Obamacare

Yeah, well, this is what it morphed into:

Obamacare

(H/T: Washington Times)

And PUHLEASE, will someone tell me HOW the heck absolutely tangled web of overlapping responsibilities is supposed to make healthcare delivery more fair, more efficient, and less costly?? PUHLEASE, the only people this will make happy are Big Government Suckup Progressives and those willing to outsource their own responsibility to themselves (as well as the bill) to others.  Like these clowns.

The fact that MY BMI is of high enough interest that HHS Secretary Sebelius to have enthroned it into law/regulation should tell you HOW intrusive Government is going to get – and it frankly, NONE OF THEIR DAMN BUSINESS – only mine and my doctor.   Where are all the "pro-choice" people on this issue?  After all, haven’t THEY been on the "me and my doctor" mantra for decades?  Why is this any different – it IS MY choice, right?

And another thing – should I really take the Obama Administration when Barry and Michelle’s personal cook is now an esteemed "senior policy advisor for health food initiatives".  And I just LOVE this smarminess from one of Elites:

"The fact we’re now tracking BMIs’, I think knowledge is power for us," nutrition expert Mitzi Dulan told Fox News."There are a lot of people that don’t know their BMI and it’s denial.

Unless we change out these folks in November, we’re going to have a LOT MORE of these self-important and holier/smarter-than-the-rest-of-you jerks in our faces.

I can’t WAIT for the time they start telling homosexuals, druggies, and alkies to start reporting their risky behaviors that would result in adverse outcomes – after all, THAT’S costing the public money as well!

It’s about time that people start to own their OWN outcomes and consequences and for the Progressives to STOP socializing all the bad outcomes on the rest of us.  I’ll own my bad outcomes – stop asking me to be responsible for everyone elses…

Change?  Yes We Can!

And why not – 62% of the American public thinks that the country is going in the wrong direction.  After a year and a half of the Obama Administration’s reign, people are looking for the red light on the Progressive bus – their GPS has said "Make a legal U-Turn"; the polls as "sign posts" all have Right turns on them.
