Quoting "State Flag Flying Parameters", the Connecticut Capitol Police are not allowing a Gadsden flag to fly over the State Capitol on July 4th. The group of retired Marines, who are trying to make this happen, are escalating their request to the State Attorney General. The Democrat Connecticut AG is none other than, Richard Blumenthal.
Yes, the same Richard Blumenthal who got caught up in the "I served in Vietnam" boondoggle in mid-May.
So, one of two things is going on here:
1) These Marines truly want to fly the Gadsden over the CT State Capitol on July 4th and, maybe, were figuring they’d be refused by Capitol Police, and also figured that the AG CANNOT POSSIBLY refuse their request – in hopes of gaining some much-needed positive press after his fiasco.
2) These Marines are using this opportunity to help their guy, Blumenthal, win some positive press, by giving him an opportunity to appear as a good-guy, to Tea Party folks, and a lot of Marines.
Either way, I think it’s pretty safe to say that a Gadsden may be flying in Hartford next Sunday, and that’s a good thing.
