A politician telling other politicians that the jig is up?

by Skip

One of the seminal moments of the Obama Administration was the election of Chris Christie (R) over Corzine (D) as Governor in New Jersey earlier this year.  And now, he is "bringing it" with respect to the campaign rhetoric to actual government – the spending is stopping because the funds aren’t there.

What most Democrats are saying right now, especially here in NH, is that "we must tighten the belts, look around, and taxes must be raised to keep the budget in check".

Christie just told the New Jersey political world the opposite – the state checkbook has been put in the safe, only he has the combination, and it isn’t coming out any time soon:

It’s time for us to hold hands and jump off the cliff. It’s time for us to do the difficult things that need to be done and to stop playing the petty politics of yesterday, of lying to the people telling them they do not have to pay for it because someone else will.

That last line is the epitome, the crux, of the Progressive soul – "someone else will pay for you, so vote for us and our ideas". It is the beginning of dependence and the end goal of Progressivism. Sounds good until the bill comes due.

I listened to the speech he gave to over 200 NJ Mayors – man, oh, man, I haven’t heard a politician speak that plainly and to that level of truthfulness EVAH! You need to listen to it – and have your elected officials listen to it as well!

He is going to earn the elite title (along with Congressmen Jim Ryan and Jim Bunning)  of "Progressive most hated people" for simply stating the truth: "There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch".

Progressives want you to think that they can give you everything; the sad state of fiscal affairs in NJ (and CA, and the US Feds) shows otherwise.

If only ALL Conservatives, if ALL Republicans were to adopt the same mode in the face of the fiscal insanity caused by Progressives (both Democrats and Republicans): "just saying "No"….
