NH Democrat Party can’t read either.

by Skip

I sent this to Jim Pindell (proprietor of NHPoliticalReport when he alerted me to this "We know what is best for you – shut up and like us" presser from the Hodes campaign about Kelly Ayotte’s simple statements of "why increase the cost of insurance?" :

OH, THIS IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN!!!!    yipeeee!!!!!!
You can post that, btw!

Yeah, I guess that Bergman either can’t read or debate himself, so he’s had to go crying to the MommyShip for help.  So sad….’cause they goofed it up too.  You know, sometimes the hardest thing a blogger has to do is to pick what topic to write about – the Democrats just present SUCH a target rich environment – and they haven’t failed me again.  Thanks, guys!

My post was here (and yes, Kelly’s folks were surprised) and it had two main points seemingly beyond Emily Browne’s grasp (or she’s unable to debate them either):

  • The Hodes Campaign believes that you are too stupid to figure out the kinds of insurance you need; only the State has that kind of firepower.  In return, you get to pay higher premiums – and love us for it!
  • Freedom and Liberty gives the individual citizen CHOICES – the State of NH, under Jeane Shaheen and Gov "Do Nothin’" Lynch decided, via their legislative activities, to remove that freedom of choice from general public – those Democrats decided that we HAVE to buy what THEY thought we should have (‘cuz in their eyes, we’re too stoopid to know what we need for ourselves) – which means, if I can paraphrase from Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi:
NO CHOICE FOR YOU!

So, Statists acting like Statists – it is what they do!  They remove choices from citizens – and when you are not allowed to make your own choices, that is a loss of individual Freedom.  That doesn’t seem to matter to them except as mere platitude.

Anywho, let’s examine the inner workings of Ms. Emily "FAR LEFT WINGNUT" Browne’s sad attempt at a comeback (her lightweight attempt to resurrect Bergman’s limpy missive)

CONCORD -Underscoring how out of touch Kelly Ayotte is with the needs of real New Hampshire families, far-right blogger GraniteGrok

Sidebar: Problem for you, Ms. Browne, I KNOW who I am and am not afraid of labels.  From my post concerning your predessor ("I do believe that the dear boy has had his pwor lil’ fweelings hurt…":

GraniteGrok IS only entity that really fits your Presser.  We ARE your feared:

fire-breathing, Mtn Dew powered, extremist, right-wing, hard-charging, gun-toting, opinionated, outspoken, rabble rousing, Letter writing, radio microphone stomping, Supreme Court winning (er, Doug, anyways), buying ink electrons by the barrel, taking on all Progressives/Liberals/Moderates/ Squishy Republicans and flying to the aid of rock-ribbed freedom loving and liberty seeking / leaning Conservatives anywhere!

The Conservative duo that seems to be striking fear (if I read Mike’s Presser correctly) into the hearts of Democrats everywhere in NH.  After all, none of them DARE to take us on, mano-y-mano in the blogosphere or radio land or in any debate anywhere.  As with fabled Texas Rangers of old (1 mob – 1 Ranger): 2 ordinary schlubs in Central New Hampsha vs the whole of the NH Dem Party – no contest!

Fear, Mike, really?  Yes you should be…be very afraid!

You too, Emily!  Now, on to the spanking!

delivered a ringing endorsement today of "KellyCare" – Ayotte’s plan to eliminate essential New Hampshire insurance mandates, giving insurance companies complete control over the healthcare of Granite Staters (Ayotte Remarks, Keene, 11/7/09).

Step 1 – Reading and Comprehension

Conclusion – she hasn’t read what I wrote and I’m going to use real small words this time to help the second issue:

  1. Statists / Socialists always believe that Citizens have no brains
  2. Thus, they must be protected
  3. If they have to be protected, then they must be victims
  4. If there are victims, then they have to attack the Oppressors (hmm, Alinsky’s Rules at work)
  5. Oops – looks like they have to make one up – after all, this started off as HEALTHCARE reform, quick – attack….er….something….anything…oh sure – INSURANCE COMPANIES!!  WE NEED HEALTHCARE INSURANCE REFORM!!!!   (nasty insurance companies – how DARE they earn a whopping 2.2% overall profit margin last year while Medicare has $60 Billion in fraud)

In order to leverage a complete take over of the healthcare system, they are using the Trojan horse that will lead to the single payer system….yet, that was NOT the thrust of my post, which was.

It would allow for those that believe certain coverages have a value added feature to purchase it if they want – and not purchase that which does not meet their needs.

Which she ignores – I guess, to paraphrase that Tom Cruise movie, she can’t handle the Freedom!

It should be that people, not politicians, get to pick what they want to buy for insurance (and not the Hodes of the world).

Is that simple enough for you, Emily?  Choice, freedom – is that such a hard thing to comprehend understand figure out (sorry, I’ll keep trying to use small words, but that is just so hard to come down to your level…..sigh….)

"Essential mandates"

once again, she just cannot free herself from the mindset that only politicians know best.  If something is good, if someone is willing to use their hard earned money to buy something that is good, then someone will offer it for sale – that is capitalism at it’s simplest – "I want what you are offering and am willing to give you money".

Problem is, Emily wants me to buy something I don’t WANT to buy – she continues to want to take my choice, my Freedom, away me.

"…giving insurance companies complete control over the healthcare of Granite Staters

Yo, Emily – Let go of the insurance companies for a sec – I’m talking PEOPLE here – you know, the folks that you guys keep saying you’re for.  Yet, it seems that you don’t want to give "people choice" a chance?  You only want Politicians and bureaucrats the right to choose for us?

In New Hampshire, these MANDATES ensure that insurance companies cover crucial services like healthcare during pregnancy, mammograms for breast cancer screening and care for newborns. The MANDATES include Michelle’s Law, an historic piece of legislation passed last month that allows college students to remain on their parent’s health insurance plan should they fall seriously ill.

And every time YOU mandate something, costs go up…and up…and up.  That’s the dirty little secret YOU won’t address, will you?  Every time you Socialist Democrats mandate something, it not only causes insurance premiums to go up, it causes taxes to go up too!

Or have you not figured that out yet (or just plain ignore it)?  I can’t – ‘cuz I’m on my town’s Budget Committee – not only did MY insurance premiums go up, but my property taxes went up, too.  Let me clue you in – government workers have insurance policies too.  In fact, they have pretty good ones, expensive ones (yeah, some government workers might be eligible for that 40% tax that you Democrats want to apply in PelosiCare).  Anyways, their premiums went up – and those should and have to be paid for as well – with tax money.

I also talked about other ways to solve the Michelle Law situation – you ignored that as well.

Let me clue you in on this – if the items you discussed (pregnancy, mammograms, newborns, Michelle) were all that important to everyone, why do you FORCE them to buy coverage for them – wouldn’t EVERYONE just buy them on their own?

Or are you like Lurch Senator Kerry (D-MA) and believe that people won’t spend their money their  your right way?

Once again, why is it that you feel that you need to take and keep peoples’ Freedom from them?

Under "KellyCare" insurance companies could opt to not provide healthcare during pregnancy or care for newborn children.

What Emily so conveniently (oh drat, big word again) easily forgets is that people could STILL purchase it. On their own. Just because something may not be mandated, it doesn’t mean that it is not available.  What is so difficult to understand about that?  Or is that the impression you want to give ("if Government doesn’t tell them to do it – you’ll NEVER get it!")?

Not to worry, say Kelly Ayotte’s friends:

Yeah, right – GraniteGrok is real lovey-dovey with Ayotte.  Once again, clueless there, ma’am.  You see, there’s TWO of us here and the other one has not been all that pleased (me – I just wanted a question answered).  Ask Brooks, her manager, I’m betting that up until yesterday, we were NOT on his A list.  Perhaps not all the way to Z list, but hardly at the top of the invite list.  Bet you’re not there either! But let’s continue with the fisking.

Next, she takes only the bits she wants – which actually proved nothing.  Here’s what she took:

"I’m in my 50′s – so is my wife. Stranger things have happened, but I’m 99% sure that we aren’t going to have any more children." (GraniteGrok, 11/11/09).

This is what I wrote in full (emphasis on the important parts):

I’m in my 50′s – so is my wife.  Stranger things have happened, but I’m 99% sure that we aren’t going to have any more children.  So why does Hodes want me to pay for such???  All it does is raise my costs.  The people who should have this coverage are those that want to have newborns – that should be so simple that even Democrats should understand that!

Hmmm, guess she does not.  The Democrats want to force me to spend my money for something that I don’t need.  Or want.   Emily, why oh why do I have to spend money on something that has no value for me or my wife?  Yankees used to be frugal – what you demand that I do is no different than mandating that I light $5 bills on fire and shove them into my wood stove.

That is spending money for no reason at all!

"KellyCare" would also threaten coverage for mammograms required to detect breast cancer early.

Nonsense – it threatens nothing except for Nanny Staters that have such a need to boss everyone around ("now, now, children, take your cod liver oil – its GOOD for you!").

Removal of this mandate would not threaten mammograms – if people believe they are of value, that it would save their lives, wouldn’t they be willing, Emily, to pay for such coverage?  Wouldn’t they?  C’mon Emily, what’s your answer? Aren’t YOU willing to pay for coverage for yourself, or for your minor aged daughter?

Ayotte’s friends don’t have a problem with this either – "Life is full of risks," they say (GraniteGrok, 11/11/09).

Let me get serious for a moment -  she’s trying to ignore reality.  Living MEANS risks.  Everything we do has a risk associated with it.  The problem is that society, under the
auspices of Progressives, is moving to believe that life is risk FREE!  They want to mitigate ALL bad outcomes – regardless of the bad decision that created it (as in unprotected sex, drug use, et al) – or circumstances (sometimes, stuff happens).  We all, if sane, try to minimize risk…but risk cannot be ever totally removed from life.

Emily, in this case, my risk of being stricken with breast cancer is quite low.  I am willing, as an adult, to take that risk for myself and decide to NOT pay for such coverage – thus saving that money for something else that is of higher value to ME.  That is freedom – that is also self-responsibility.  I am, as an adult, will accept the consequences of that decision if I have bet wrong.

You, on the other hand, have taken that choice away from me, like a parent would do for a child. I resent that, and I resent you wish to control that part of my life.  You do not want the State to make the decision for you with regards to abortion ("that is only between a woman and her doctor"), so why are you hypocritical in this respect and have no qualms in inserting the State into my healthcare needs and wants?

Emily again only quotes part of my writing:

And finally – "KellyCare" would undue Michelle’s Law, the landmark bill ushered into law by Congressman Paul Hodes, which allows college students who become seriously ill to take extended medical leave and remain on their parents’ insurance plan. Grow up, Kelly’s friends tell students facing life-threatening medical conditions: "At what point do kids become adults?" (GraniteGrok, 11/11/09).

Selective, Emily, very selective of you.  The whole part was:

but it is an important philosophical discussion:  at what point do kids become adults?  This situation could have been solved with a special high risk pool – or even privately funded as a charity.  Instead, someone decided, yet again, that Government is the answer – and they are wrong.  And that is a further problem – with the rise of Big Government, the mindset is that ONLY Government can solve problems – and generally they can’t in an efficient and time critical fashion.  Individuals, however, can do so in a voluntary basis. Further discussion in the future.

Emily, Emily, Emily.  I asked a philosophical question – which you failed to answer?  Or is your answer is that children never grow up?  There is no such thing as adulthood, that you want the State to always play the Parent to the citizen-child?

If one examines the Progression of the Progressives with respect to the growth of Government, only one thing is clear: it always will continue to treat adults as mere children – unable to defend themselves and will always need the protective hand of the Nanny State.

People banding together on a voluntary and charitable fashion – oh, such a quaint notion?  We ALL know that only Government can solve problem, don’t we children?

"’KellyCare’ puts the health of Granite Staters directly in the hands of the insurance bureaucracies that derailed our healthcare system in the first place," said Emily Browne, Press Secretary for the New Hampshire Democratic Party. "The comments by Ayotte and her right-wing friends reveal a dangerous plan that would deny protections to women and children while lining the pockets of insurance companies."

"The more the we find out about Kelly Ayotte and her right-wing agenda, the more out of touch she is with New Hampshire families," added Browne.

Once again, and I  W i l l    W r i t e   T h i s   S l o w l y…NO one has said insurance companies should be in charge.

I have said that PEOPLE, INDIVIDUALS should be deciding –

and YOU won’t let them

But that would spoil your narrative story, wouldn’t it. Take your hands off my healthcare (and money)!

OK, it is now late; time for bed.  Maybe grammer or typos exist in greater amounts than normal (my fingers rarely keep up with the words in my head) – I’ll fix them in the AM / PM / sometime tomorrow…

Good Lord, preserve us from such inanities (oops, big word again) foolishness (um, try again) nonsense (drat, once more) silliness (ok, last time):

asses.

Skip, you forgot my favorite health insurance mandate: Gastric Bypass surgery that our courageous Governor publicly disagreed with. He had the cojones to let is sit on his desk without an approval signature or a veto signature until it lapsed into law; the “Do Nothing Governor” distilled to it’s essence.
It’s an even better example than your pregnancy one: what’s the percentage of NH population that requires this as a medical necessity? 10%, 5%, 1%? I thought the “needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few” (to paraphrase Mr Spock); the many need cheaper insurance costs, 80% are satisfied with theirs, so why screw things up?
But what really cracks my cookies is “they” (the Royal They) won’t let themselves take advantage of the wonderment currently known as O’care. In fact they voted down 11 amendments that would subject them to the same rules as us little folk. I thought the Constitution says “they can’t do that”, make laws that you and I have to obey, but they don’t.
