« CO2 levels going up? Hmm, that should mean that temps should ALSO be going up, right? | Main | NH Democrats: Try as they may, there really is NO defending their position on health care reform »

For all those that believe that TEA Party folks are the "lunatic fringe"

TEA Party Gadsden Flag

I wrote in my previous post:

...we need more to tell the politicians that WE are going to take their place!

And that IS what is starting to happen all over the country!

Certainly Ray "Buckles the Clown" Buckley, head of the NH Democrat [Socialist] Party keeps thinking that the TEA Party folks are the fringe - my CongressCritter, Carol She-Porter holds folks like me in total contempt with her continued use of a gay sexual slur in describing the actions of millions of people who see this country going down the toilet because of their Statist policies - the enslaving of what used to be a free people by ever increasing amounts of laws, regulations, and taxations.  All of these reduce our freedoms - our ability to CHOOSE for ourselves!

That is what has driven the TEA Party folks - they are mad as all get out and REFUSE to put up with it anymore.  When elected officials decide to act in their own interest, or act in ways counter to  Constitutional values, they are out to start picking them off - and are starting to succeed!

Next time someone tells you the Tea Partiers are an irrelevant fringe, remind them that the Tucscon branch of the Tea Partiers just mobilized to defeat a Democratic member of the city council, the first time in anyone's memory that an incumbent Democrat has been defeated; registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans 2-to-1. The term "black swan" is being thrown around for its rarity.

Let me repeat: the TEA Party folks beat the Democrat.  Folks are no longer willing to sit - and incumbents all over the country are starting to learn this lesson.  Congratulations folks!

Make no mistake - the Democrats are out to demonize and delegitimize those that can help to beat them.  Keith Hennessey decodes the Democrat plan:

  • Increase government spending, especially through rapidly growing entitlements.  At the state level it’s Medicaid.
  • Wait.  While you’re waiting, define deficits as the problem, rather than spending.
  • Once deficits get large enough, shrug and say we have no choice but to raise taxes.  This is especially true for entitlement programs directed toward the elderly, who have less ability to adjust to changed government promises.
  • Argue we must protect low and middle-income from higher taxes, so upper-income taxpayers must bear the entire burden increase.
  • Raise taxes on upper-income taxpayers.
  • Rinse and repeat.

Problem is that there are still Republicans out there, the political party that should, by their Platform, be closest in ideology to the TEA Party ethos.  Many in the Party believe that, but many do not - they are either threatened by a "disruptive force" in their world or just plain dismissive of these "rag-tag political vagabonds".    And in this, these Republicans throw their lot with the other Statists, as Keith observes:

  • Try to label as radical and extreme those who argue for slowing spending growth and preventing tax increases.  The goal is to discredit these solutions as legitimate

Again, Tuscon is a 2 to 1 Democrat area and the TEA Party folks won.   A call to Freedom was issued - and answered. The "extremists" beat the house!

Look, I know it sounds like I'm on a hobby horse concerning these two ideals, Freedom and Liberty.  Well, I am!  The older I get, the more precious they become.  My age is now giving me a perspective that I did not have when younger and busy with career and family.  I appreciate our history more and more and the sacrifice of those who have given me that gift that most in recorded history have not ever had available to them. I get ANGRIER the more I see others being dismissive of the most wonderful and successful political experiment the world has ever seen - and so easy to throw away what has been the actual driving force for "spreading the wealth"; the Freedom to strive and achieve all that is possible (instead of power hungry redistributionists).

I cannot allow that sacred trust to pass through my fingers without doing what I can to pass it on.

The 'Grok will support any candidate that openly and aggressively talks and walks the TEA Party message (and can prove it) in everything they do.  But you who fall into that category of  "riding coat tails"?

You're screwed.
