Fergus - once again, not getting his facts straight
Let's continue to examine his screed of a few days ago:
Sadly, this was not an isolated incident for Lambert, whose chronic angry-at-everyone screeds have made him an isolated figure even among party activists. The only real surprise about the comments is that anyone was listening to notice he crossed the line. It's no accident that U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg and former U.S. Sen. John E. Sununu have never appeared on the show. Piqued, Lambert has used his forum to attack both Gregg and Sununu on a regular basis for being insufficiently conservative as he defines it. When Gregg and Sununu aren't good enough Republicans, that's a pretty extreme view.
I've already pointed out Fergus Cullen's attempt to ignore facts about "anyone was listening" here and his failure to do his homework. After all, if you can't get the facts straight, any argument loses it undercarriage (that is, unless one is a Liberal, seemingly).
So Fergus decided, for some silly reason, to walk that plank of "walk without facts" again with this:
U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg and former U.S. Sen. John E. Sununu
Well, he's at least 1 for 2 on this - yes, Senator Gregg never appeared on the show. Then again, there were a lot of places / opportunities where he sent a representative instead of appearing personally (example - the monument and bridge dedication in honor of Chief Petty Officer Daniel Healy in Exeter, NH who gave his life for this country.). However, there was this blogger call...
I will point this out: Senator John E. Sununu DID appear on Meet The New Press (podcast here and here ) - he also did a video interview with Senator Sununu as well as participated in our Congressional / Senatorial Q & A Series (here). Also worth noting that while Doug was critical towards Senators Gregg and Sununu, there were also times that he has praised both as well (Sununu examples here and here). These direct examples show two things:
- the 'Grok applies it's motto ("Thank'em when they're right and spank'em when they're wrong") even handedly - a term that rarely could be assigned to Fergus
- Fergus has seemingly failed to master even the most basic of modern technology. Tell you what, Fergus, come on over and I'll introduce you to this new fangled invention called "Google".
What Fergus keeps missing...
His problem? The loss of a word in his vocabulary: accountability. I recently put up that road sign post that I believe is indicative of Fergus's problem - think: eye, beam, and mote. The summary is that while Fergus was more than happy (and rather stupidly) to spend scarce Party resources, he outright ignored the basic fact that it was the Executive Council that passed that increase in taxes and the two Republicans and that the two "Rays" (Burton and Wieczorek) voted with the Democrats.
So Fergus tries to whale on Lynch and pin the tail on that Donkey while it was his own Republicans that actually made it happen. Take a bow, Fergus! And also remember that it was during your reign that Republicans lost it all here in NH. Good work! Perhaps if YOU had made better use of that word, accountability, to the NH Rs when you had the chance, perhaps your legacy wouldn't be so laughable.
Doug apologized for his actions - will you for losing an entire state to the Democrats and keeping NH blue? And yes, don't bother to claim credit for the 20 or so seat pickup in the House last go round - we all know that those were the result of another of your political rivals: Fran Wendelboe and the Reagan Network with Sam Pimm and a LOT of those folks I call Liberty / Freedom folks - you know, the kind of folks YOU CAN'T STAND). Without them acting independently, his tenure would look even sorrier.
About the only "fact in the future" that Fergus recognized was that campaigning to keep his position was NH GOP Chair was a real lost cause once it became known the former Governor John H. Sununu was going to take it from him.
Glad to see he got one thing right....certainly hasn't gotten any facts right in his screed so far.
More later....
Oh Fergus?
