10 Reasons as to why blacks should not listen to Rush

Lloyd Marcus is a black singer that I first heard of as the TEA Parties were starting to roll along - he created the TEA Party Theme.  He has been touring and writing.  As a long time listener to Rush, I stopped post at American Thinker (which I seem to read more and more) at this "top 10 reasons" to see what was up - a bit surprising, for sure.

I am a black man who, since 1993, has been a regular listener of the Rush Limbaugh radio program. I must caution black America. Be afraid, be very afraid of this powerful white man. Regular listening to him could be devastating to the psyche of the 96% of black Americans who voted for Obama. I have compiled the following Top Ten list of reasons why.
10. If you want to believe blacks are eternal victims in America, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh.

9. If you do not want to take responsibility for your life, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh.

8. If you are a dead beat loser who voted for Obama in hope of him redistributing what others worked for to you, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh.

7. If you believe blacks can not achieve without lowered standards and intervention by government and liberals, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh.

6. If you believe blacks who speak English correctly and are self sufficient are traitors, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh.

4. If you do not believe self respect, pride and true self esteem comes from personal achievement, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh.

2. If you want to believe rich white racist Republicans are burning the midnight oil thinking of ways to

And the number one reason black America should fear regularly listening to Rush Limbaugh; they will become ditto heads.

Notice the theme: YOU are responsible for you - not anyone else.

Note: I do not mean, nor (I bet) that Mr. Marcus believes, that no one ...

...should be helped when in need - it is ok to give a hand up to those that need it.  Neither (and for many, harder still), is it wrong to accept such.

What he is pointing out, in my opinion, that you should not blame anyone else for self-induced misery and hardship.  One should not expect / demand / feel entitled that your needs are to be taken care of at the expense of others - it should be up to the individual to make their way in the world.  If you do not, you both enslave yourself to others for providing for your needs.  In the long term scenario, with a continual series of hand outs (vs a limited set of hand ups), one's freedom is at stake.  In that case, freedom over self has been relinquished to the State - you live by their rules and have little choice in the myriad ways of how rules are crafted and then meted out for your  shelter, food, and the other necessities of life.  It also restricts the Freedom of those from those that must fund such and is taken by force.

No one, especially me, is against the hand-up scenario - I encourage it and wish that our laws and regulations encouraged it.  Sadly, it seems that we are not.

No, for you folks out there thinking "there he goes again, that cold hearted conservative hating everyone and everything", remember this - there are those that TRULY are in need and cannot fend for themselves - there are no friends or family to step in.  There is no one to extend a compassionate hand; they should be assisted.  But there are many that first turn to the State first for their sustenance instead family and friends - and become wards of the State.  And when it goes a generation, two generations, or more - that's the problem I believe that Mr. Marcus is trying to address even as he speaks to individuals.  And that is the meaning.

And yes, use the link to see all 10 reasons.
