MTNP Radio. It's gonna be a rough ride. Let's roll!
Starting Saturday morning at 9 am!
As usual, this week's broadcast version of GraniteGrok and Now!Hampshire.com brings an array of items and guests for your consideration-- ALL STARTING AT 9AM! As always, thanks to the technical wizardry and analytical skills of Skip, if you are beyond the broadcast area of Newstalk 1490 WEMJ, simply click here for instructions on how to connect and listen on the Internet via livestream. (Podcasts here)
Once again this week you can WATCH us at our USTREAM.TV feed by clicking here. Check it out. Do we really have faces for radio? (Or voices for newspapermen?)
Joining Doug and Skip for the full program will be Andrew Hemingway. Presently contemplating a run for NH's 2nd CD seat, Andrew is a self-employed entrepeneur. He'll join us for co-host/roundtable duties as we bring yet another week of what's hot in the Blogosphere to the airwaves.
What's up with the Republican establishment? Don't they get it? Why would the GOP set about picking pseudo-Democrats like Dede Scozzofava and, closer to home, consider a Charlie Bass to put forth in the '10 midterms in this era of Tea Parties and general discontent with the leftist, government knows best approach? Thankfully, not all Republicans and leading conservative figures have swallowed the Kool-Aide...
John C. Wohlstetter is a foreign policy and national security expert and the founder and editor of the blog “Letter from the Capitol”. He is the senior fellow of technology and democracy at the Discovery Institute and a board member of the Hudson Institute. He is the author of the book The Long War Ahead and the Short War Upon Us. John has been published online and in print for, Town Hall, Washington Times, Human Events, The American Spectator, The Fenton Report, National Review Online and many other local and national outlets. He appeared here on MTNP radio back in January.
John joins us to discuss the subject of a recent talk he gave at the Discovery Institute centering on the focus of a new book he's working on. The speech, entitled "Nuclear Arms: Sleepwalking Towards Armageddon" gives a historical overview of the 64 years spanning 1945-2009, the Nuclear Age. He uses examples of various countries to illustrate the problems of nuclear proliferation & arms control.
Russia presents problems of big power linkage, in which arms control is conjoined with a host of other problems Russia poses; Iran represents the problem of an aspiring regional hegemon, with perhaps still a messianic streak that makes deterrence exceptionally problematic; North Korea is the "crazy aunt in the attic"--a rogue proliferator; Pakistan presents problems of command & control of its growing nuclear arsenal; the United States faces the problem of negotiating agreements with disagreeables.
There is no question this subject is important-- and timely-- for all Americans as we stand by watching events unfold across the globe. And you thought the threat of nuclear annihilation was behind us...
It's been a rough week for Carol Shea Porter... again. With the results (or lack thereof) of the reckless spending in the name of "stimulus" by her and her big spending Democrat candidates starting to come home to roost, she was forced into admitting that none of it seems to be working. Of course it isn't. NONE of her bankrupt ideas, fed directly through the direct pipeline to Nancy Pelosi, can possibly work in a nation of free markets and liberty.
Joining us to talk about Shea Porter's failed representation for New Hampshire is someone who wishes to change that, come November 20010: Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta. We'll discuss the failed policies and, more importantly, what HE would do in order to help jumpstart a struggling economy. Something tells me more taxes and fees are NOT part of the Guinta prescription. We'll also chat the health care issue, cap and
tradetax, and anything else that might come up. Of course, phone calls are always welcome!
Not Evil, Just Wrong is the movie Al Gore and his ilk wish had never been made. After viewing it at last Sunday evening's premier thanks to our friends at the Josiah Bartlett Center, one can see why. Is this the beginning of the end for the radical global warming movement? New polling shows people are starting to wake up on this issue. Hopefully...
Despite being billed as a "Tax Summit", there were some participants that put forth an "anti-tax" message. Thanks to excellent reporting by Grant Bosse over at the NH Watchdog, we know who they are, and the gist of what they said. Kudos to all the "good guys"!
Obama to give miliions and millions for technology in the Muslim world?! Where the bleep is he getting THIS money?!
- And of course, ===============>> Your calls are encouraged at 603-527-1490.
WHEW! It all starts at 9AM EST Saturday. Tune in if you're in Central NH at NewsTalk 1490AM WEMJ or live on the 'Net here... The results are in. MTNP Radio BLOWS AWAY the competition!
