A note to our NH readers during the US Congressional recess
Congress has now let out for their August recess. Many of the CongressCritters will be holding "town halls" around their districts...
Or not. Many are sending their staffs only, as you may have seen some of the YouTubes of our elected officials returning to their States and districts and being confronted by angry citizens (here and here as examples) who seem to know better what the bills (e.g., Cap and Trade, Healthcare) actually have written in them than these clowns (whom, I will remind you, are paying themselves around $170K / year - can you say "GREEDY" politicians??).
It seems that our Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Congressman Paul Hodes (D-NH, CD-2) are not willing to be put into the situation to allow NH citizens "to seek redress from their Goverment" (This is your RIGHT -remember, they work for us!)- only their staffs will be there.
Please, BE THERE!
As of yet, we have no information on Congressman Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH, CD-1) or Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) after repeated inquiries to their offices. We will update this post as we get more info.
From the NH TEA Party Coalition:
This is the message we are sending out for attending Congressional Town Halls during the recess. Please pass it on if you know anyone or any group who is not on the eblast list.
Shaheen has dozens of these planned for towns all across NH! Hodes is sure to have more, and Shea-Porter too even though we cannot find any for her right now.- Webmaster, NH TEA Party CoalitionIMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE NH TEA PARTY COALITION

The SENATE still has not voted on Cap and Trade and Senators as well as Representatives need to be questioned on government takeover of health care, as the path to single-payer.

***IN ADDITION - SAVE THESE LINKS***
Senator Jeanne Shaheen has posted many dates for MORE of these events. We would like to stand outside and educate those who are coming in, and then enter the forum itself to ask questions of her staffers. Here are the links to the Representatives' calendars.
SHAHEEN: http://shaheen.senate.gov/nh/office_hours/
HODES: http://hodes.house.gov/PRArticle.aspx?NewsID=1744
SHEA-PORTER: Shea-Porter has none listed at this time but if you hear of any please let us know. We will watch and post the information on our website as well.
If an outdoor event is canceled at the last minute due to heavy rains as happened with Lee Speedway last week, please refer just before you leave, to the website or Twitter, where a notice will be posted.
We would like to thank the dedicated people who have been showing up, sometimes on very short notice, and even to stand in the rain, as we discover when and where these events are being held.
Last week, we were thankful for our Patriots on the seacoast where they organized 41 people who descended upon the Portsmouth library to voice their opposition to government takeover of healthcare at a forum put on by "Seacoast for Change". It was very effective.
Government is out of control. They are now talking about taxing health care benefits, and a "VAT" tax like the EU has, to reduce the deficit! And if Cap and Trade is passed, that is yet another tax, on EVERYTHING, as well as mandatory home inspections, 'smart grid' technology that will control our thermostats, and GPS systems to track and tax us on our driving habits. (The latter two are being tested in Maine and NH as we speak, using 'stimulus' funds.)
There are still people who have no idea what is happening to our country.
We hope you can make it to at least one of these events. If not see below for suggestions on what other things you might do. If you would like to buy a t-shirt to wear to these protests, please write back with size so we can bring some with us.
And thank you for all you do.
