« Ruminations - 07/14/09 | Main | Obama Universal Healthcare - the public now saying "No Thanks!" »

You know, Obama puts a high price on NH jobs - this is Government "working"?

This is absolutely nuts - and this is what happens when politicians, Republicans or Democrats, decide that they just "have to do something" - and become Statists (government just HAS to solve every problem with more government) in the process.  At this time, I am reminded of Obama's words

The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works -- whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified."

-President Barack Obama, 1/20/09

Obama is certainly willing to spend a pretty penny for temp jobs here in the Granite State.  From NOW!Hampshire:

Stimulus So Far: $416 million; 34 Full Time Jobs

The New Hampshire Office of Economic Stimulus is providing estimates of the number of jobs created by President Obama’s stimulus package for the first time and the number may explain why the president’s economic agenda appears to be wounded and Americans have turned sour on the spending bill.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has created fifty jobs in the Granite State thus far, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader. Thirty-four of those jobs are fulltime.

These jobs—many of them temporary—are the results of the first $413.6 million in stimulus funds that have come to the Granite State. The state may receive as much as $750 million in total.

$8.32 million per job.  Pray tell - are they good jobs?

Oh enough with the snark - this should be seen by every taxpayer as a freaking disaster and yet another reason why Big Government should be chased by every axe in the state to be felled.

Up to $750,000,000?  Well, consider NH stimulated - 90 whole jobs!  I can't wait to see how Obama's stimulus impacts our unemployment rate with THIS news!

And they will only last until...

Members of both parties said they expect the jobs to end when the funding ends in 27 months.

...2011.

One last note about this NH "stimulus" - can we accuse the State of NH of skimming the Feds?  Even the Director of this shindig is going to get $110K - somebody's getting a profit from this - who?

And Obamanation just keeps getting "stuck on stupid":

“What the economy is going through is a very necessary and very health adjustment as families and the United States government goes back to living within their means,” stated Geithner in testimony before a joint House Agriculture and Financial Services hearing on the regulation of derivatives on Friday.

Pray tell - and we are to know that the Obama Administration is trying to live within its (our?) means is

how?

After all, Obama's universal healthcare (that will cut costs over the dead bodies of our elderly) just came in at $1.04 TRILLION over the next 10 years.

Hey, do you think The Most Esteemed Wife would let me spend the equivalent amount so my family will "save" later on?

Sorry, what was I thinking?  THis has nothing to do with better healthcare for the tiny % of people that might need coverage - this has everything to do with totally changing the relationship of citizens to their government - it is about creating forced dependency.

Freedom of choice (long term)?  No - it is socialism pure and simple - a few elites who believe they know better how the rest of us should live our lives than we do.
