« Speaking truth to power. | Main | Obama - yet another presser »

The pushback continues...

Along with Tea Party rallies and demonstrations popping up all around the country, including those at the doorsteps of congressional offices, we are witnessing yet another vehicle folks are taking advantage of in expressing anger and frustration with what their so-called "leaders" have been doing on their behalf down in Washington: speaking out at various "town hall" style meeting and gatherings held home in the Districts.

Much like the lady we saw passionately addressing Congressman Mike Castle about Obama's birth status during one such event, others are drilling down on the socialization and nationalization of our health care system. Seems as though the more people wake up to the details, the more they object. This video shows MO Democratic Representative Russ Carnahan talking about his party's plan to overhaul health care and the reaction of the crowd that obviously isn't buying it...

I've got to believe that even the densest of politicians, save the great Obama himself-- and perhaps Reid and Pelosi-- are starting to see the light on some of these crazy leftists proposals.

Biden said you must spend money to save it, and putting us all in debt will create a surplus! This is the Orwellian upside downer thinking that is typical of socialist. We need to start calling the Democrats "upside downers".
We need to start calling you fuckwads.
Nice talk, Arthur. Ever hear of soap?
So your answer to the US current problems is destroying political communication by heckling the people you disagree with who are trying to run the country ??? Thats childish, nevermind unconstructive. And it doesnt support the troops. If you truly oppose this health-reform, make a symposium nand publish something. Build an opposing world view. But stop with all this crazy-lady shit. SHouting isnt smart in combat.
Good sentiment, fnord. However there is a large segment of the population that simply either won't be informed, or won't be convinced, if there is no emotional content. It also helps when people put themselves on the line.

On the other hand, this is playing on the Democrat playing field. I haven't read Sun-tsu, but I think something was said about this..

The best strategy is to truly build up a grass roots campaign in each district to oust each congressional member one by one. The emotion can be done on the local level in a less confrontational but still public manner.

However the press will still hide the badness that comes from groups like Acorn, and play up and spin the local action anyway. Sometimes when there are no negatives for bad behavior, or in this case no rewards for good behavior, anarchy ensues.
