MTNP Radio... Battling the bad guys. It's a rough gig, but SOMEBODY'S gotta do it!

road warrior

Starting Saturday morning at 9 am!

As usual, this week's broadcast version of GraniteGrok and Now!Hampshire.com brings an array of items and guests for your consideration-- ALL STARTING AT 9AM! As always, thanks to the technical wizardry and analytical skills of Skip, if you are beyond the broadcast area of Newstalk 1490 WEMJ, simply click here for instructions on how to connect and listen on the Internet via livestream. (Podcasts here)

  • This week we welcome guest co-host Lori Ingham of the ConChrist blog, who joins us for the full 2 hours.
  • FOIAs have been issued to Congresscritters and denied, including one by Skip . Constituents nationwide want to know what the phone call numbers were. pro and con, regarding how to vote on the Waxman-Markey cap and trade energy tax bill. Inexplicably, Wink not a one has coughed up the requested data at this point. What are they trying to hide? Maggie Thurber, who first thought to do such a request,  will join us. As a former County Commissioner in her state, we'll ask her what she thinks of the latest "stimulus" grants flowing into local law enforcement via the so-called annual "JAG" program, and whether she thinks that it really matters if the rules and laws are followed or not...
  • David Kreutzer is the Senior Policy Analyst in Energy Economics and Climate Change at The Heritage Foundation's Center for Data Analysis. In this position, Kreutzer researches how energy and climate change legislation will affect economic activity at the national, local, and industry levels. In a new study, he looks at the economic impact of passage of Waxman/Markey cap and trade by congressional district, noting,

It has become quite clear over the past several months that placing a cap on carbon emission--via rationing, taxing, and eliminating consumer choice--will have major implications for American families and the economy.

  • We met Andrew Hemingway at the Tea Party gathering the other night at the 1875 Inn in Tilton where we had an opportunity to hear him speak. Running for the nomination for NH's 2nd CD US House seat, this young conservative is definitely worth a listen. What caught our attention is the fact that he is the chairman of the Bristol Municipal Budget Committee and, this year, under his chairmanship, have managed to actually CUT the budget in that town, thereby REDUCING taxes! We'll find out the secret, if any, and we'll discuss Thursday night's gathering.
  • Guest co-host Lori Ingham lives in Franklin where, after a 20 year run, the City Council has voted to override the tax cap, despite a meeting this week where 23 people spoke against the action, and 2 vetoes by the outstanding Mayor Ken Merrifield. Lori was one of the speakers. We'll get her reaction to the actions of her representatives and find out what she thinks this will mean for the future.
  • Time permitting, we'll give our thoughts on the Sarah Palin news and the race to succeed Judd Gregg in the Senate. HANG ON!!!!
  • And of course, ===============>> Your calls are encouraged at 603 527 1490.

It all starts at 9AM EST Saturday. Tune in if you're in Central NH at NewsTalk 1490AM WEMJ or live on the 'Net here...
