Time to have a Tea Party in his office?

by Skip

Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) is one of the most argumentative, partisan, and Statists of the Congress.  He has never met an idea that centralizes more power to the government (over allowing citizens to keep it).  Now, he has a whopper of a tool to clout us all with – his idea of protecting us from climate change by ball-and-chaining us with taxes and excessive regulations (yeah, he lays out specs for a hot-dog stand to be "efficient").

Well, shades of Tea Parties!  I was privileged to speak at the April 15th Tea Party in Manchester, NH.  As the schedule was way off, I put away my prepared speech and simply read some of the home made signs held by the crowd members.  My favorite was:

"$787 Billion and they didn’t even read the bill"

which outlined much of the angst of the Tea Party attendees – those that represent us are FAILING in their jobs by not even reading what they expect us to obey.  Talk about taxation by dereliction of duty!

And now, with his 900+ page bill, Waxman, one of the two main "authors" of the bill (the other being Ed Markey, D-MA) shows clearly why most of us would love to give him a case of ultra-global-warming!

Is it all that much to ask, instead of that hired speed reader that makes a sham of the process (such ARROGANCE shown to US!), that those that vote on it would read it – slowly, carefully, and thoughtfully?

Notice how Waxman tries to shift the question when caught red-handed…..

Oh, by the way?  That clause he was asked about?

Obama keeps saying that with green power, we will generate millions of new jobs.  Which means that there should be lots of jobs, right?  That clause sets up a mechanism by which those employees that lose their jobs because of the Waxman-Markey bill’s higher taxes on all sorts of energy (estimates of about $3,100 / family / year; much higher on businesses).

Embarrassing…
